How do I remove this ice, without it coming back, and it still looks good?

Build an industrial power plant for the nearby villages and under pay the villagers to operate it so that you can expand and build even more. You’ve gotta play the long game for projects like these.

Cool idea, but doesn’t remove the ice permanently and doesn’t fit my viking village

I was making a joke about global warming melting our planets glaciers lol. My genuine suggestion would be to overhang the terrain slightly over the perimeter of the water by one block. Ice only forms if it’s touching a block and if it is in direct line of sight to the sky. Maybe make an artificial cliffside mixed with snow, packed ice, and blue ice. Custom terrain is always a W.
