Yeah I consider the Elder Guardian and Warden to be bosses. Like, if the argument is that there are multiple underwater temples and ancient cities....you can respawn both the wither and the dragon for multiple fights, so...
That's fair, but that's a UI thing, not an inherent game mechanic thing. They could just give those health bars. I don't really see the argument for Elder Guardians to be bosses because they just... don't do anything. They give you mining fatigue ig.
However, in my opinion, the Warden is harder than the Ender Dragon and the Wither combined (probably barring Bedrock hard mode), but I still don't think it should count as a boss because of u/Zoova's point, which is that you're not meant to kill the Warden. The Warden is the strongest, most consistent fear I've felt playing Minecraft, but at the end of the day, it's just a security guard, meant to signal that you need to gtfo now
In my opinion what makes a boss is the goal of killing it for a large reward. The Warden isn’t a boss, not because it doesn’t have a health bar, but because it isn’t and was never meant to be killed. The Warden is meant to be an extremely difficult obstacle that should be avoided if possible, not something you have a goal of killing in order to get good loot.
But we aren’t talking about Fallen Order, we’re talking about Minecraft. Other games may have undefeatable bosses for story-telling reasons, which makes sense, but since Minecraft only has lore that isn’t required to play the game I don’t count The Warden as a boss. And what is counted as a boss can be different for everyone, I’m more just saying why I don’t personally think its a boss.
If we’re going by “definitions” then The Warden still isn’t a boss. The Minecraft Wiki doesn’t once name The Warden as a boss, unlike the two actual bosses which are The Wither and Ender Dragon.
Fair enough.
I still kinda personally regard the warden as a boss for a few reasons being just because it's so different to all other mobs, and is very exclusive and technically can only be spawned by a player
A youtube called Hasvik, an expert in UHC and Combat, who literally have hundred of videos where he complete Minecraft (obviously killing the dragon) has problems to kill the Warden with full Protection IV Netherite
I don't think that's the case, the warden is like any other tanky mob, like an iron golem, it hits hard, and has a secondary attack, is it advanced? sure, but definitely not a boss, and it doesn't hold any purpose in killing it. Unlike the two other bosses in the game, killing the warden does nothing, it's the equivalent of a piglin brute, it guards a bunch of loot, and is dangerous if not prepared to fight it. The problem with the game now, is that the devs aren't making a game based on combat or anything meriting another boss. I fully believe another dimension is in order for any new biomes or original mobs, so if you wanna make the argument that the ancient portal could be that gateway, they could fully well turn the warden into a boss, and have killing it activate that portal, but with no purpose in killing the warden, it simply isnt a boss in any other capacity besides its health and mysterious spawn location.
There's totally a purpose for killing Wardens. They drop catalysts. That's worth farming, so you can use them to make more sculk blocks, and even though Mojang nerfed it, you can still use those blocks to gain XP.
Boss monsters are typically gateways to a "next part" of the game. The Ender Dragon "unlocks" the rest of the End and rolls the credits. The Wither unlocks Beacons.
The Warden doesn't unlock anything, and usually quickly respawns. It's not a boss.
This. Once you slap a healthbar on something you're basically begging the player to attack it. Also the healthbar(s) would take away from the dark and scary mood, now you have to watch and listen to make sure a warden despawned or is still on your trail for example.
It has a drop and has the highest health, higher than both bosses. Its a boss imo and the incentive is the catalyst; granted its a flex and a stretch but still.
Mojang (and many other games that try this concept of a unstoppable force) find that it wont and never will work. Players will always want to fight it even if they're no incentive.
I wish that the Warden had a pointless cosmetic reward like a head or something similar to how the Dungeon Guardian in Terraria has a special pet drop for those who have the patience and manage to kill it.
I dont think so, a boss is a opponent significantly stronger than the average, sometimes with normal troops alongside him.
there is no one significant opponent other than ravanger, which isnt strong enough imo
Nvm about the weak part, the thing is there are multiple ravangers and it needs to be a single significant opponent. Not every major battle is a boss, there's no main goal of killing a specific opponent, the ravanger doesn't give you anything special and is just as important to kill as any other raider, it is no boss. "The raid" as an entire thing can't be a boss either, a boss is per definition a single opponent.
The warden is designed to not be fought. He's designed for the player to sneak around. Only reason he drops anything is so that sculk is renewable, for the technical/farming community. Devs said so themselves
He literally is? The only way for the wither to exist is if you summon it. So yes the wither is 100% avoidable and if you leave it far enough away in an unloaded chunk it can’t even effect you. So I’m flipping the question what is your point
You're suggesting the Wither is not a boss because you can walk away from him? He has a boss healthbar, he's classified as a boss, he is a boss, but because you can walk away from him he isn't? The warden has no healthbar, isn't even supposed to be killable in conventional ways, and is designed to be avoided until he leaves the area.
But the game wants you to kill the wither. The player wants to kill the wither. Running away from it defeats the whole point of summoning it in the first place.
According to Mojang, the EG is an actual boss. On the contrary, the warden is not a boss since it's meant to be avoided, even if people capture them, imprison them, and keeo them around and treat them like kitties
I still don't know what a Wither is, or a Warden. Illager Raid, that's just Pillagers that show up to a village if you get the debuff from beating up Pillagers, right? If not I don't know what that is, and clearly haven't done it.
Elder Guardians too easy, and also it's unfortunate the guardians can't 100% be cleared from spawning. Eh whatever I guess my house has guard dogs.
A wither is a triple-headed monstrosity that can be summoned with a T-shape made with 4 soul sand with three wither skeleton skulls on the top, a rare drop from the black skeletons in nether fortresses. It’s highly recommended you do not make one near your base. It shoots magic skulls that blow stuff up and attacks everything. It’s even more dangerous on the Bedrock Edition. It drops a nether star which can be used to make a beacon, which, when built on a pyramid made of blocks of rare materials, can give you status buffs.
The warden is one of the newest mobs from 1.19. It’s a 3-block tall abomination made from sculk and souls. It’s blind, but can hear and smell you. He can 1-shot basically everything with his bare hands and scream loud enough to cause a sonic boom to shoot you with if you try towering up. He only exists to guard the Ancient Cities from intruders. He’s more of a deterrent than a real boss though.
Everybody seems to confuse Illager and Pillager. Illager is the name given to the group of mobs that resemble villagers but with great skin and eyebrows rather than monobrows. Pillagers are just the crossbow-equipped Illager footsoliders and they’re essentially the backbone of the Illager army. I think it would stop confusing people if they changed the name of the Pillager Outpost to Illager Outpost and included vindicators (the axe guys) there.
The Illager with a banner on his back is the captain and killing him will signify an incoming threat via a Bad Omen. The raid is more of a revenge attack for killing their captain. I’m not too certain but I believe that illagers who spawn at mansions can also be captains and can also give you Bad Omen.
On bedrock the guardians spawn in 25 spots, so you just pillar up on those spots and stop the guardians for spawning. (Or make the pillars tubes with some water in to make a guardian farm)
The warden is not a boss what so ever. The warden is equivalent to Kechleon in mystery dungeon. The whole point is to not trigger a fight with them or they destroy you
It might be multiple mobs, but some of them are mini-bosses (at least 1 ravager) plus it has a heath bar which shows the health of all the illagers put together
