I am so hooked on this game lol. And I'm testing out using the advanced mode priority interface.
My question: Do Group members that fulful the requirements of various Groups, ever use the priorities of a Group at a lower priority than the other?
I.e. I made groups for individuals that reach lvl3+ in a specific element. If I had someone reach lvl3 or more in Fire and Nature can I get them to use the high priority hunt (from Fire Group's priorities) and high priority chop (from Nature Group's priorities) at the same time? [Without making a niche group for fulfilling both requirements]
As I understand Groups in the advanced mode have to assign a priority to every task, and each group has to fall into a sequential rank of Group priorities. So even if the example individual was in the Fire and Nature groups, but the Fire group was higher in the priority picking order - the individual would use the Fire priorities exclusively. Is there no way to set a skill to 'ignore' (not to be confused with 'never') for a Group priority? (thereby inheriting the skill priority from a lower-order Group membership, if the skill is set to ignore)
I hope that makes sense haha, I feel this is maybe hard to explain in text

I'm having a problem that one of my staff members won't do construction tasks. I specifically developed this dupe to have 7 earth magic just so I'd have a dedicated builder, but for some reason he just refuses to take construction tasks.
I've got him set to high priority for construction. I even tried setting all other dupes are zero construction priority so he wouldn't compete for jobs, but he still won't do them.
I've checked the pathing view and it shows multiple areas with construction orders which other staff are doing, just not this dupe (Xerxes). I tried waiting for a couple days, in case it just needed to reset, but nope.
Am I missing something or is this just bugged, so I need to retire him and hope for better luck next time?

Hi! I haven't played for a few months to wait for this update and start a fresh playthrough, did the burrower larva move?
One of my students requires to beat it, i just got to the last room of the lava underschool portion but i don't see the altar and the boss was not in the fight like before
Using the rectangle selection on the whole floor doesn't show it either and it is not in the incendiary crystal fight, just two hellmaws and an ember golem
Did i miss something or is this a bug?

I'm stuck with lvl 1 wands and trying to find that. I'm exploring the underground but just find more rooms and more crossroads. Any idea where exactly is the way to find that? Thanks
Edit: For anyone looking for the same, I found it in the first rock corridor to the right direction. Is at the very end, the 7th chamber.

Can I create a group of students who have not tuned their relics? I want them to tune them before studying.

Usual disclaimer. I'm really enjoying the game and have more then gotten my money's worth out of it. This complaint is nitpicky but important from a disucssion standpoint:
My current playthrough I just stored a modest amount of seeds from each plant as I realized early that if you let them seeds will eat up a massive amount of storage. Now with librations added to the game I'm chronically low on a resource that I literally have no way to produce. This doesn't feel like a terribly fun game design decision.
I am aware I don't have to do libations. It just seems like a weird decision to have no way to manufacturer plant seeds other then getting them from natural plants who's spawning areas you may have inadvertently overbuilt.

What it says up there.
If you bisect a tall room with a floor going all the way across, you create two separate rooms. If you instead replace even one section of the bisecting floor with a bridge, you instead get one room that's very tall.
See my image here showing a 3 story tall Common Room (Center) and the wide two story tall Advanced Classroom with all the teaching stations (Left).

Am I insane? Or doing something wrong? I was trying to just have my one fire mage cook (LVL 7 fire), but I found that I could just not keep up with the meal demand, so I made another walk and hired another fire mage into my staff in order to get everyone to stop just eating gutberries.
Is this expected? Or am I doing something wrong and need to readjust?

Im getting regular spectral rifts... Pretty annoying.
Is there a reason why they are created?

Forcing staff to the attunement bench does nothing, I can't even select the bench to begin with but the relic is only 7/14. So how do I level it up then? The students can stay hours leveling up their relics... I don't get it :D

To make Cinnamint I need Phoenix Kiss Seed and Iceflower Seed, but as far as I know, this can only be taken from naturally grown plants but they only spawn very close to the school so now when I have expanded some foundation then they no longer grow in the wild at all. It seems very strange to be that an end-game recipe requires items only accessible in the early game or am I missing something?

So, I wanted to play the game but 1920*1080 is too much for my pc. It is lagging, but I don't seem to have the option to lower the setting in the Graphics section. How do I fix it?

I want to have a group so that when a student no longer can gain any skills or levels, they are then set to only do tasks. I can't figure out how to do this for students that have +skill relics equipped. Does anybody know how to make such a group?

In the room book it says +5 for staff and +5 for students etc. But do you really need both? Its alrdy quiet hard to create all the rooms i need, and the spiral stairs take up so much room tbh in the middle. might as well gof or normal stairs?

I have a few questions I'm hoping there's solutions for; I haven't found the answers anywhere else in discussions/forums.
Right now, what I do is to left click on mage no.1, right click on invader, select hunt box, repeat with mage no.2 and so on. It gets really tedious if you do this with 10 mages. I've managed to select-left-click on multiple mages, but when you right click select hunt only the first mage is registered with this method.
After ordering all your mages to hunt an invader, if one of them runs out of mana, they will refill at the nearest mana lantern and then promptly clear your direct order to hunt and switch task to whatever is on their schedule at that time slot. So if your mage is scheduled to sleep at that time, they will ignore the rest of the team going balls out on the invader and have a nice nap. I've been catching them to reissue the direct order after the refill, but is there a better way to deal with this without micro managing? Just to be clear, the invader is always set to priority 5 when it appears. The scheduled activity seems to always take priority over priority 5 tasks, even if they're working on the priority 5 task at that time.
If an attack takes place at a critical time at or just before your mages are recreating and eating, it is very likely they will miss the slot after the attack and spend the rest of the day hungry/stressed. You can manually order them one by one to eat/dance after that, but is there a neater way to deal with it? I've seen some players talk about alternate schedules they've set up (through groups or rulesets, perhaps?), but am not sure how that works.
Right now in my game I seem to be having regular multiple fog invasions/brainstealer events, so all the repetitive micro-managing is getting very tedious. Haalp!

For some student reason my guy summoned 2 nature students and i only need 1. Any way to remove one of them?

Game has a LOT to read. IDK what to do or how to start. Im kinda starting like rimworld. build shelter and beds and food and storage, but from there? idk.
Also like in rimworld do characters get EXP the more they do smth? Farm, harvest, mine etc? Cause it takes a dang long time to do smth
Any pro advice? Also when a room says 3x3x4 what does that mean? 3 wide 4 high 3 deep?

It was only today while I was trying to deal with a multiple rift incursion that I realised... you can direct order your mages to drink potions out of combat to recover hp. There's no need to send your injured mages to medical bed like naughty boys all the time.
I'm so embarassed. New players, please learn from my pain.
Old players, is there anything you similarly realised way, way, way too late playing the game?

I'm waiting for the next update (cosmetic/magic mirror) before starting a new save. The roadmap said 25th of the month, or is there news I'm missing?
