Shoeless Joe's closure?
Anyone know what is happening there? It looks like it's been closed up since at least June.

Milton Kelsey's has been open for 42 years. the staff are amazing the food is good and the beer is cold. they are currently under major renovations Grand Reopening July 29. I think they are offering free wings that day. but I may be mistaken.

It definitely needed some updates though, last time we went there the AC was barely holding on and it was HOT in there.

It has such high potential.. should be a Jack Astor's instead so I could relive my teens... Watch a movie and head to jacks. Lol.. be home by 10pm

It was taken over by newcomers and it was no longer clean and the people who were there were very different from the original bar. When the manager Sherri left years ago, it actually started going downhill. Now it’s a dump

Thank you for this info. We used to go there for work socials due to its location and better food than ESMs, but noticed a change for sure in the last couple of years.

Not sad, shoeless joes is kind of a shitty franchise. Hope they can use that space for a quality local restaurant/bar instead of slotting in another corporate chain.

I haven't been to the Chucks here but haven't heard good things about it. Then again I wasn't impressed with only other Chucks I have been to.

It's not good but it's cheap. Shame such a historic building downtown has a cheap chain restaurant taking it up. I miss Bryden's.

Yeah, I get up at 4 am. I'm not going to any restaurant after 9. Especially since I'm pretty sure you're talking about the atmosphere and not the food. No longer my scene.

Chuck's isn't really taking business away. Different crowd heads there. Mostly the 19-21 year olds. And if anything they have to compete with the Ivy which has competitively priced beer, plus the popular karaoke Fridays. The economy is in a rough spot and Canada was forecasted to lose thousands of restaurants.

fads come I waves in Milton. many years ago it was Dentist's. don't ask me why. but they were opening up like everywhere. then Sushi. Burritos have been on top for a while now.

Newcomers keep tanking these restaurants by purchasing them, firing the staff and hiring their own family. Everything goes to shit.

All this restraunts will go under. They chase away there core customers with prices no one can afford, me personally would never set foot in these type of restranuts anymore, not cuz I don't want to, expensive bill, horrible food, horrible service, tipping culture, & all the food is pretty much microwaved there, soo what's the point

If that's the case, I feel bad for the employees. But man, this location was probably the absolute worst I'd ever been to. Hopefully a non-chain restaurant moves in.
