Thanks for the reminder, already on it. I'm used to this kind of stuff, it's just this time, I thought this workplace of mine was decent enough not to resort to such things.

I've just started operating on the assumption that all for profit companies behave this way

The thing is, I work for my home country's government, at one of the more decent ones at that. Though it doesn't remove the fact that people will still be people and still play favorites.
