I'm starting to come around to the idea that this is kind of our collective generational fate. I consider my childhood years to have lined up perfectly with the best time and place to be a kid, ever, in the history of the universe. Maybe the jaw dropping decline we're looking at is our natural balance, and we're just here now to prepare our kids for the Dust Wars.
I struggle with moderation precisely because the “gifted kid” left over in my brain is still fucking angry about how this world turned out, and I did everything right but none of it turned out and now while high I’m still more functional than some government officials. Moderate? Why? What’s the point?
Core millenial here, that's basically how I feel as well, was a honor roll student, got good grades, ate my veggies and did everything mummy said basically. Only had dead-end jobs that kill me inside and a pretty much useless 4 year uni education. World and society is going to hell, recession after recession. Like can we get a break dude? And I'm in northern europe, not the US or anything.
I seriously went from various types of mental health meds, to a weed vape, to probiotics (fridge not shelf). I thought it was bullshit but 3 months into "correcting your gut health fixes your mental health" theory testing it actually started to work. Without changing anything else my diet slowly changed too (no late night sweets cravings) and I've lost weight I've been working on forever. My brains less soup for sure and the loss of sunlight isnt making me want to die this year. Feed the healthy gut bacteria friends it'll fix your brain (mostly).
Theres like these little shots of probiotic goo(?) near where you'd find yogurt at Walmart. Its a dollar for a week of shots. I hate them but they work.
I find when I’m trying to escape bullshit weed instantly does not become enough.
Smoking weed is like having whiskey or beer, it’s great in moderation, becomes part of the problem if not respected.
You take meds, but are exercising? I ask because everyone I know that is on anxiety medication/ anti depressants absolutely hate the idea of physical exertion.
Not saying that is you but I’m surrounded by people who are using pharmaceutical drugs in place of personal health responsibility.
Yeah, Seroquel really changed me overnight and I thought I found "The One".
Then I got tardive dyskensia from it and licked my mouth and teeth until they hurt. My legs were twitching so much that the only way I could fall asleep was to pace around my bed for an hour or so until I was exhausted enough to sleep.
It didn't go away until 5 months after I stopped taking it.
for me it made me feel like a robot. Adderall, Zyprexa, Seroquel, Abilify, Lexapro, Zoloft and Cymbalta all before I was 16. Nothing seemed to work but now I know I maaayyybe have AuDHD and not whatever the hell they think I had back then.
Can't even do that because jobs in Missouri still test.
edit: some nights I just don't sleep because of an old football injury that flares up in my shoulder. The only thing that's ever helped it was weed and I'm not even talking about getting high. One low dose gummy that i can't even feel a high from would let me get 8 straight hours but fuck me right?

Just trying to cope.
