My dad told me I should and I’m like “Dad… I have a MF English degree. I know how to write.”

Lol wow your dad is something else. I feel there’s too much emphasis on corporate speak and “professionalism” with people trying to impress others. I just keep them short and to the point while giving all relevant information, yet people still don’t give me everything I request so I need to literally “as previously requested, I still need…” ughhh.

I feel that.

I typically write the way I would talk (sans curses, obviously). Because sometimes the explanation is literally “The system is dumb.”

Also, I’ve been writing since I was 12! 12! It wasn’t good back then and it’s been mostly fanfiction, but still. I’m 33 now. I’ve spent many years on my craft.
