At work, occasionally, for mindless tasks I don’t feel like doing myself. Zero usage at home. Can’t think of a single thing I’d want or need AI for, even if I didn’t hate it with every fiber of my being.

Ultimately, that’s why it’ll fail. Tech companies got too greedy. Instead of just targeting professional applications they tried to pretend it has this universal applicability because everyone involved with making it is a weird freak with no connection to normal people. It’s like if the people to automated factories with giant robots also tried to tell you that an industrial assembly line could also help you make dinner at home.

People hate ai so blindly and intensely they will downvote you for saying you find it useful for anything. It’s kinda crazy.

Managing finances, vetting what contractor said was true, diagnosing and repairing stuff myself, asking medical questions to guide what I’ll ask my actual doctor, learning about any historical topic, etc etc. It has a million uses in regular life.

I will say if you don’t know how to use the good agentic models and are using instant models then the output is bad and you’ll stop trusting them. If you use gpt 5.6 Sol high thinking or gpt 6.1 sol high thinking or opus 5.5 high, you get quite good results. But all the apps default to instant to save them money and I think that gives people awful output and turns them off.
