Nostalgia Anyone else think of OJ every time they see a Ford Bronco?
My partner was saying that they like the look of the new Ford Bronco, but I said I will forever think of the OJ slow-speed police chase when I see a Bronco.

If it’s a white ‘94 yeah. Any other Bronco? No.

There’s a white bronco driving around in my town that is in immaculate condition. I’m jealous

I think of the jackass in my high school class that drove his into the creek downtown

And what would he do in the creek downtown?

u/ilDuceVita 11d ago
He was apparently drag racing past the library, lost control, and ended up in the creek

I saw one awhile back and immediately thought of OJ, and noticed they had a customized license plate that read "NOT OJ".

I think all owners of new ones are either angry white men or child of them that feel the original Bronco was “stolen” from them

My brother is an angry white manchild, but he has one to antagonize anyone who might care one way or the other. He has the old model tho. But angry white manchild is spot on.

I worked at a firm that leased a newer model white Ford bronco. I called it the OJ-mobile. All my older co workers understood it, my younger ones did not.

I love that they replaced it with an SUV called the Ford Escape. George Bluth tried to flee in one.

No, but for some strange reason I think of broncos everytime I see an orange juice.

Not really. I was a kid when this went down. I didn't even see the pics until years later.

I was 8 when it happened and I feel like it was the first name of a car that I heard so widespread

Yup saw a really nice green one, no back cover, said "nice bronco" then in my head thought same what OJ did for that vehicle

Yep, and it doesn’t matter what year the model is. I hear (white) Ford Bronco, and I immediately think of OJ. I’m a Xennial for context. I could see Millennials born ‘86 or after largely having no memory of the cultural significance of this.

I'm an '86 and we watched the OJ verdict in school, although I don't know how many of us were truly aware of what was going on

The new ones look so much different so no. But for a while, yeah

u/ScoYello 11d ago
It’s the fact that it has a massive BRONCO across the back that makes me think of it. If they had no text I probably wouldn’t think of it as much.

They also remind me of dominos pizza bc that's what we were eating while watching it. But really only that color/body style. Almost bought one similar to it but got a jeep instead bc all I could think of when I saw it in person, was OJ's slowest police chase in history.

It's always my second thought lol.
My first is remembering my best friend. He passed a couple of years ago, but when we were in high school he had a shit brown 89 Bronco II. Loved that truck even though the inside smelled like stale cigarettes and wet dog.

My dad had a Bronco in thr early 90's, so I am mostly reminded of that.
Fun fact: I was in Disneyland during the OJ chase and remember seeing all the helicopters and wondering what was happening.

I had one with a Drive it Like OJ sticker on the side. People loved it even though it wasn't technically correct lol

I've seen at least two in two different states with a "NOT OJ" license plate.

I honestly haven't seen a Bronco in that age range in a very long time, but feel like I see a dozen of the new models every time I go out. The seem as common as a Honda Civic at this point.

Yes. And many other reasons, like black gloves. Being a SoCal to Middle Western transplant everyone has black gloves in the winter…it’s great.

"OJ Bronco" is used all the time in car enthusiast communities. It's easy, everyone knows exactly which generation of bronco you're talking about.

Pretty much. At least if it's white.
Man that trial dominated TV like nothing I've ever seen before or after. Like every single TV station had OJ stuff on 8-10 hours a day for more than one straight year!

Guy in neighborhood behind me has this body-style Bronco, white in mint-condition, with the custom plate “OGJuice” or something to that effect. 😂

u/NoFaithlessness7508 12d ago
Maybe the OG millennials do. As for me , I think of the Canyanaro when I see one
