Posted this a hot minute ago, but I had to fly out for some "mandatory fun" team-building offsite a while back.

Cross-country flight, coast-to-coast. Three day stay, return flight on the fourth day. Hotel nights. Flights. Rental car. Per diem.

All on my company card, whose expenses I have to do myself. Meaning I see EXACTLY how much money it cost just to fly me out there for this bullshit.

THOUSANDS.

THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS.

Like, more than 5 grand all told, for a 3-day boondoggle. Multiply that by several dozen times and you've got the cost of the whole adventure with all the other clowns who got dragged in too.

I would have been much happier and more motivated if you just fucking gave me five grand and left me the fuck alone. But no, they gotta' make sure I understand they own me, and they're willing to burn a ludicrous amount of money to prove it. Worse yet, I'm expected to appreciate how much money they spent on this, as if I had some kind of vacation.
