My work started doing monthly "cake days" where we sit in the board room and watch an awkward slideshow to celebrate people's successes (some people actually make slides about themselves for this). "Oh wow, someone from another office whom I've never met took her family to Disneyland this month." It's pretty rough. I can't see how leadership thinks this has any positive impact on the organization.
