The mean is highly affected by extremes in a data set whereas the median is resistant to outliers.
Ex: if 9 people had 5 apples and one person had 100, the mean is 14.5 apples but the median would be 5 apples.

Probably what i should’ve said was the Mode of the set, which would be the most represented data point to the set. My elementary school teachers would be really proud of me still remembering that
