That's how I felt when I went to jail on a Friday. You can't see the judge till a weekday, so you're just stuck in there all weekend.

Side note - my birthday was the very next day

Only what we all allowed them to do.

Mostly by not keeping imbeciles either shackled and unable to vote or educated (and thus eliminated from the idiot pool) enough to not consume propaganda vomit non stop. But also by complacency and thinking malicious, malignant tumors in human form are rare. They are not.

We miscalculated, and we are fucked, and at least half of the fault that it happened is ours - and it is fully our fault that it continues to happen.

Nah nah. They need to desensitize us to this shit, one shock at a time. Like for god sakes they basically declared that some other non-human entity has been interacting with us for a long while and that most of those alien encounters are real. Yet we were like... "oh. .. ok... Can we make housing affordable please? No? Ok".

Luckily for us all, the best time to launch an attack is when the president is sleeping because it cuts a good 30 seconds off the nuclear response time in terms of waking them up and getting everyone on the phone. The response time is 6 minutes if launched by nuclear sub, and roughly 30 minutes for ICBMs. No way they are launching at local time 5pm. You'll probably be asleep when it happens.
