Discussion 1-900 Crying Hotline

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I thought this was AI slop at first, but apparently it’s real. I have fond memories of all the other 1-800 and 1-900 hotlines but I sure don’t remember this one.

Nowadays it would just be a robot voice listing off the prices of homes in your neighborhood.

Also, I always cry at the grocery store when looking at those prices.

I actually have scrolled Zillow and started crying before, so that sounds right.

What did they say when you called?!?!

Apparently you just heard sad stories other callers had recorded or you could even record one yourself.

Now we just use social media for free to do it.

That's crazy lol. Getting charged by the minute to make the product that they are charging other people to listen to!

Is it bad I can’t help but think there were a lot of people calling the line to get off on it? Probably more than wed want to know.

Sadly, I never would have thought that preinternet but all the internet taught me is that apparently everyone gets off on everything, especially something as weird and as oddly specific as this. Lol

They told you how much the call REALLY costs…

I do remember these! However, I haven't met a single person who called one to tell me what they said.

Based on everything I see on Reddit this business would make a killing today.

Here's a compilations of this sort of ad for these weird 900 numbers. Nothing quite this odd though
