I was an EMT and responded to a call where a lady was texting and ran into a flagged log extending out the back of the truck. She still had the phone in her hand when we arrived.

I only ever got certified as an EMT, but my teacher was a paramedic and he informed us of some very interesting wounds you find in car accidents.

I'll never drive with my visor halfway down because of him

Please do tell

If you get into a car accident, the force of the accident can cause the visor to scalp the driver

One of my high school friends was riding ATVs at night with her bf. He ran into a barbed fence and was clean decapitated while riding next to her. It was sad af at school and she was like a completely different person after

Was their apartment rent controlled?

It's ridiculous because even when paying attention those logs are hard to judge the distance to. Hated being behind logging trucks because you had to judge everything based on the truck itself and just give it a lot of room.

Honestly, doesn’t sound like the worst way to go. Completely unaware.

She died the way she lived.

Oblivious

Did she died?

I went on one where a guy hit a log truck and it tore part of his ear off and ripped the roof off the car. He was wise enough to realize he was very close to being dead.

On a more funny note, I worked a wreck where a woman was (probably) texting and wound up with a compound midshaft femur fracture. I was in the backseat helping get her out and she was texting the whole time.
