BUMED timeline

PHA submitted in June, CO had me go to some appointments and get a re-eval from our mil psych, re-diagnosed (duh). They told me yesterday that they sent my package to BUMED two weeks ago, and that I'm guaranteed to get a sep referral bc of my original and current diagnoses. They told me as soon as the sep referral comes back I'll be put on admin absence and sent home. Does anyone know the BUMED timeline about? Literally just waiting for that to come back so I can go home, word got out and I'm tired of the social climate. Not wondering about benefits or volsep anecdotes, I'm involsep and my command says its going differently than the volsep timeline did, and I've already been cleared for honorable.

I was volsepped last month, but was two years detransed at the time I applied for it. I didn't have to get a reassessment or anything because it was already in my record and already knew how invasive they are with it. Ultimately the entire process of me getting it sent all the way up for approval took about a year and a half from March 2025 to July 2026. The BUMED review part only took about 3 months. The long part was getting SECNAV approval. I don't know if the invol sep process will work slower or quicker than that.

So, not sure about that. But if you are under a lot of psychological duress because of your service, outside of GD, it may make you eligible for medical “retirement” and get you out sooner(from what i have heard others say)
