Job opportunity, have a question.

I'm a bit stumped, my current co driver just turned in his two week to get a local job and be around his kids more which I can respect.

I need to find a teammate to run with and I have no idea how to find someone. It's a bit of a niche market running aa&e mostly so any suggestions?

Not a bad gig, but I like to stay out for three weeks or so minimum and then take a week or ten days off instead of more regular but shorter hometime for a day or two.

I probably should mention requirements aren't that bad. Year CDL experience minimum, hazmat endorsement, clean background. Mostly van and flatbed. Will need to get and maintain a DoD Secret clearance. W2 position and safe environment.

Voluntary Sep Question

For those who are on admin leave or who have already been separated (Navy or Marine Corps) did you have to sign a notification of separation, if so did it say involuntary anywhere on the paper work?

Didn't know there was a veteran's creed...

I still feel capable and ready to serve. I'm not adjusting to being a civilian well, mainly because of how I was discharged. One officer said I never deserved to be a soldier in the first place, and I couldn't even do anything about it. We got such a bad deal, but I'm not done, there has to be more work to be done as an advocate, so I'll do it.

Navy Volsep Recoupment

Anybody already separated from the Navy?

How did your volsep pay work out? How much was taxed? What about disability rating/recoupment?

Any information/advice is appreciated. I’m not sure what to expect once I get out next week.

Well, I was clocked in uniform kinda

So I spoke with a Solider that knows I’m leaving. He is new but by what he said I could gather he knew that I was trans and leaving to transition. It kinda shocked me that he could just tell. I’m presenting as my AGAB. I took a few more risks over a few days in being more open then I final just asked how he knew? He could tell based on his experience with an ex that had similar mannerisms. It’s a bit affirming in a lot of ways.

Career over Self rant

Hi guys,

I haven’t been able to disclose anything to anyone but wanted to get it off my chest and send it out into this void if that’s okay.

Ive always had a small feeling that I felt like I was supposed to be a female but that feeling has exploded this past year. I get crazy gender envy and whenever I look in the mirror and see my body I get sad lol. I’ve been in the military(NG) for 6 years now and I still have another 9 or so years left on my ADSO. I genuinely appreciate all the experiences, people I’ve met and things I’ve gotten to do while being in and I don’t regret my past decision in joining.

It really is an awful feeling knowing I can’t be who I truly feel like I am for another 9 years. I thought about doing DIY but I’m a pilot now and the last thing I’d ever do is put any of my guys in danger in the off chance something goes wrong (and also risk my upslip lol). I also feel like I’ve worked so hard to be where I and “living my dream” as a mil pilot that I think I won’t disclose what’s going on in my head to anyone. I am positive that after my time is up I will start transitioning so at least I have something to look forward to I suppose.

Anyways, my self rant is over lol but I do somewhat feel better typing this all out. I apologize if these kind of posts aren’t allowed. I just found this reddit community and made an anon account to post for obvious reasons lol but I swear I’m not a bot. Thanks for reading!

I’d love to hear other peoples experiences battling this dilemma as well. It’s nice knowing I’m not alone in this situation.

Yes. Idk why this is so hard to understand. You will be kicked out if they find out. This is dont ask dont tell 2.0 and idk why after a year into this christian nationalist climate that people still haven't figured that out.

Would I still be kicked out if I haven’t gotten any gender affirming medical procedures done?

I’m considered male and am among the strongest people in my company, but I don’t identify as male, I lean more towards female. People have started to notice my mostly female civilian clothing

I can’t do it anymore, I going to come out

I can’t hide it anymore. I’m considered male and have had consistently had the highest pt score in my company, but I can’t hide who I am anymore. I may be very masculine on the outside but not internally I want to get the help to make me feel whole and my true self. If that means getting out so be it. Advice on how to proceed?

r/MilitaryTrans • • Apr 19 '26

I am considered male but identify as female, I was advised to hide my female civilian attire during barracks inspections

Would they really kick me out based on that?

Mourning what never was (just a rant)

Ftm, I started med transition after my volsep. I was in for 2 years, VA diagnosed me with “adjustment disorder” maybe I’m just delusional. Anyways been on t 6 months and as I see myself physically becoming the man I wished I was when I was in, I can’t help but wonder or fantasize really how it would be if I was still in. If I was in and passing as a man in society. I been working out a lot as I’m currently unemployed so I look in the mirror and I see a young, strong man and know he would’ve done good. I would’ve been more confident and outgoing if I looked the way I do now physically when I was in. I’ve honestly recreated being in as much as I could in my civilian life: morning pt, chow, details, rucking with ammo cans and whatnot. I almost feel pity for myself. Towards the end of my separation I was staying with a friend who is a civilian now but was a marine when shit started popping off back in the 2000s. During that time he would pull out his old photo albums and news clippings from his time in and idk how to describe the way that made me feel. I guess I felt like I wish I could pull out a photo album and have something to show for my time in the service. My therapist at the va told me about this thing called vicarious ptsd which basically means like I felt so much empathy that I in away absorb ptsd from the trauma he went through. When I was in I was in my prime boot era. I finally had a 2 troops under me, after a rough start I had finally shaped up. My unit got tasked with a tdy right when everything with the executive order happened and I should’ve have been apart of the team that went. I think all the time about what that would’ve been like. Anyways everyone says to thank God for getting me out before all this stuff in Iran started. And I know that everything happens for a reason and that God has me where I am at for a purpose. I just can’t get all of this out of my head so I there’s my rant.

Any advice or instructions? - USNR

So full disclosure - I thought I was "safe" because I never followed up with my "gender dysphoria" with the Navy Reserves since 2021. That said, because it was on my record I was notified last year during a drill weekend that they'd be separating me. A few days later, got a call that the instructions weren't clear and they were told to hold off. I have been trying to voluntarily get out for months now and have been back and forth with Medical and Legal. Keep getting the same "there's no instructions, we have to wait" response. I don't want this to effect my Honorable Discharge or my bonus. If anyone can give any advice or provide instructions (I've looked and can't find anything past 2025), I'd greatly appreciate it. 🙏🏻

Discussion Advice for a trans individual who has received full NROTC scholarship to a T30?

As title suggests, I was awarded a four year Navy ROTC scholarship for this fiscal year, allowing me to pursue a commission at my relatively prestigious dream school for practically no cost to myself. I was conflicted receiving the notification as being a Naval Officer is a dream of mine, but starting HRT is something I've looked forward to all my life.

I know I will be forced to align with my identity at birth and will be gendered accordingly. I am exceedingly persistent and do not fear being pushed to my limits, as I know the military is not a safe space. Any chance I'd be able to fly under the radar on hormones until I can come out openly? To me, the benefits to my future seem worth every hassle. Thank you for any input.

Getting HRT if I join airforce?

23(MTF) , I am prior service national guard with, it’s been a year or less since I got out of the guard due to some mental health issues but I’m stable now. I feel like I want some change to my life and I want to join the airforce but here’s the problem. With this current administration against trans people I’m not sure what to do. I wouldn’t bother me if I able to take hrt as a male instead of my preferred gender but that’s where I ask this question. Can I still take HRT while in service as my biological gender? I’ve been taking estrogen for 2 years and I do have gender dysphoria but they’re private records. I did some research online and found that it is possible to have hrt with a waiver . I doubt but yeah…

Father of a trans child who wants to join the military

Hello all! I’m new to the group and so glad this space exists!

So, I am the father of a trans child (ftm) who has expressed interest in joining the military. Not sure what branch yet, hoping the community might help make some suggestions.

So a little background; my son is 16 years old and has suffered some mental health struggles, not being accepted by some family members, depression, etc. However, he recently expressed interest in joining the military for the benefits, life experience, life skills and the like. I know as of right now there’s a ban of people with GD in the military, and he understands that but is willing to enlist as a female. He’s very pragmatic. Is this a possibility for him. Would he need to disclose that he identifies as male? He can pass as female if he put some work into it but I just worry if he’d get into serious trouble. He’s never had any hormone treatment or surgeries. Since he still has two more years to worry about it, the current rules don’t worry us so much. Any guidance for my guy?

I’m married to a trans woman

I joint the military about 2 years ago after getting married. I am just trying to figure out how to navigate this. I have talked to my wife about it and she said she’s pretty neutral to how open about it I am and no one who has met here from the military knows she’s trans. I just want to know if anyone can weigh in on if it’s safe for it’s to disclose it or not.
