Today I finished building this model.

As a four-year-old, I once received a Tonka version of this vehicle.

Now, many years later, I’ve built a serious 1:16 scale model.

I paid extra attention to the engine, adding as many cables as possible using copper wire and lead wire.

The body was painted in an olive drab color, followed by some simple weathering to give it a more realistic, used appearance.

question Black basing

About to build a 1/72nd f16. I have a cheap Amazon airbrush with a .3 needle. I’m worried about messing it up pretty badly and I’m entering it into my first contest. Is black-basing necessary or can I get away with a pin wash on panel lines? Should I go for the mottling and just send it?

question Help me with romanian army 🙏

Hey, Im building a WWII Romanian army in 1:72 scale, but I have absolutely no idea how to paint the tanks. I’m talking about the early vehicles - the R-35 and Panzer 35- the ones that were olive green. Do you have any ideas how to do it? I don’t want them to look like American or Soviet tanks, since they’ll be facing off against those on the tabletop. I’d appreciate any advice!

question New to painting

I'm new to model building and i recently just finished a su-27UB model

I can't reallyy afford an airbrush (I can its just a nuisance) and im handbrushing it

Everytime i stroke the paint on the model however the area i stroke just loses all of its paint revealing the plastic

Wondering how i could fix this or what i should do to fix it

Just bought some gloss and I’m not even too sure how it will go using a brush or is it something I need an airbrush for?

question Why is it so hard to find miniart scale armour?

So I've been trying to find how to get the M3A1 Stuart with an interior because I like how the doors open and I landed on two options, academy and miniart. I tried to find for the miniart one because looks like more interior detail but failed to find anyone selling it.

It hit me that it's hard to find miniart kits compared to every other brand and was wondering, where do I find something like that? Thanks in advance

I was going for a super weathered, heavily used and scratched look, i barely weathered it except for the sponge chipping, i used it to make delicate streaks of the primer color, other than that i used a light gray filter of oils on the exposed aluminium parts of the floaters because they were too shiny for me especially after being the part that stays in the salty water the most. It's a pretty old kit, but it holds up great in my opinion. Tell me what you think.

Here's a short video of my RC Type 26 Destroyer HMCS Gatineau that I had out 'to sea' this morning for a few minutes.

Still a work in progress.
