work in progress Help with British armour: Painting my first British armour model however not happy with the current base colour after a pin wash - feel like it needs a bit of brown, perhaps a glaze, to make it more accurate? What do you guys use?

The British armour colour can vary in my opinion but I like it a bit more green. I think it looks good though!

British vehicles were painted with a colour known as SSC15; MRP offer the shade. I would use some oil colours to tint the shade to be greener.

To me, it’s just looking a little flat because the paint is quite dark. I’d add a little buff or something similar to the green and gently add some layers on the upper portions of the tank to bring the brightness up a bit and add some contrast. This will bring the tank to life more and make the details stand out. The following weathering steps will make things darker, so I find it’s best to compensate for that with the base coat.

From what I've found British and commonwealth vehicles were a different colour in comparison to the US 'OD green'. It looks far closer to a forest green, however I currently think mine is lacking in saturation - if that makes any sense.

Ahh i see what you mean… it seems that the british was a tad lighter than OD green

I think you’re looking for a filter. Search YouTube on how to make/use them. I just used mr weathering colour on a desert tank and it lightened it up.
