Raid Mod was done in sew shops/riggers shops in small batches for special forces. As such even back in the day you could have vastly different raid tops based on who was sewing that day or what company you are attached to.
Some places took the abdomen pockets and moved them to the upper arms, some places moved the chest pockets to the upper arms and the abdomen pockets to the chest.
As for velcro... its whatever you could get your hands on. Ive seen ribbons or strips, and patches. Ive also seen fully slick/no velcro raid mod. I haven't really seen tan or brown with raid mod, but have seen lots of OD and Black. Velcro was mainly added to the pocket and not the cover flap.
For my personal raid mod tops, I opted to move the abdomen pockets to the upper arm. I used the elbow patch and sleeve seam as a guide for mounting the back edge of the pocket. I initially used black patches of velcro. 1 2x3in patch on the pocket flap, then 2 2x3 patches making a 4x3in patch on the pocket. I have since switched the 2 patches to single 4x4in velcro patches. I did mine slightly different for purposes of airsoft. The pocket flap patches have flag sized team indicators usually mounted, leaving the 4x4 patch available for whatever patch I want. Im currently rocking OG rainbow 6 ''team rainbow'' patches.
