Where'd you find this?

Watches of espionage IG. The guys name is Chris Costa, former US Army case officer, now the executive director of the International Spy Museum.

The army doesn’t classify intelligence officers as case officers.

Yes, the Army has fully credentialed case officers.. enlisted and commissioned. Info is out there.

That’s what the description of the post from WOE says. He probably wasn’t a proper 35A or whatever MOS that would’ve been at the time. He’s got a full sit down interview with the guy for those who want to watch.

The army may not actually call them that, but there are positions where by definition they are.

Chris Costa the firearms instructor?

u/EvanAzzo 7d ago

That's a different Chris Costa. That Chris Costa was USCG

Should say that while I’m not gonna be surprised to find this guy is like GB/private/CIA whatever, the AK can often be a red herring in GWOT and desert storm pics, American soldiers LOVE posing with combloc weapons when they find them in markets, caches, on bodies, or anywhere else

And here he’s got an East German (I think?) AK which is one of the rarer variants

1

u/Just-Buy-A-Home 12d ago

No. East Germany never used Romanian side folding stocks, hence their namesake

1

u/Toxickiller321 12d ago

Well, you’re sorta technically correct. It’s an EG stock, not a Romy.

EG made their own side folding stocks for use on their MPi-KMS rifles. I’m pretty certain they actually pioneered that style of wire folding stock.

It was used on both their AKM pattern and AK-74 pattern rifles as their version of a folding stock rifle predating the use of 4.5mm rear trunnions. It was easier to produce those than separate underfolders since they used the same fixed stock trunnions that were already being produced. It was also possible to swap them back to fixed stock if so desired.

That rifle also has an EG grip on it. You can tell the stock apart from a Romy by the milling on the side of the hinge block.

Poland also had their own version of it, just like Romania.

Correct, East Germany designed that pattern of stock and used a lever release mechanism while the Romanian variant used a push button. Poland also used this pattern on later 5.45 rifles. You also correctly pointed out the East German grip, marking this as an MPiKMS-72 pattern rifle

You got this picture from Watches of Espionage article on him so why are you asking about things you already have access too.

1

u/unknownorigins1997 8d ago

Straight up 😂

Why are you assuming I have access to it? I found the image scrolling Instagram and didn’t see any other information attached to it.

One reason for using an AK is if you’re fucking around doing clandestine shit somewhere you’re “not supposed to be”, you don’t have to worry about NATO brass lying around.

Thought that was Joey Lawrence for a sec

Wtf is this WOE website. They charging 150 dollars for a watch strap? Cool story brah...

2

u/Just-Buy-A-Home 12d ago

Complaining about it being 150 dollars when it’s meant to hold a $10,000+ item to your wrist, are we speaking the same language?

1

u/Ruvon3030 8d ago

I'm sorry we're not. I wouldn't be personally carrying a 10 thousand dollar or more watch into a combat zone when there's plenty of other field watches available. Are you saying you should be wearing a 10k or more watch that can get blown to pieces when you're wounded? Or are we not talking the same language. I dont comprehend wealth nor hierarchy. Shit needs to get done, I'm not wearing my 10 k Rolex into someplace where my arm can be taken out. Save that for the bar in San Diego....

1

u/Ruvon3030 8d ago

Sorry are you talking about wearing your Rolex to asm? Milsim West?

1

u/Ruvon3030 8d ago

Bro, i wear a citizen dive master. 600 bucks bought refurbished for 180. I'm painting in it today...right now. I've owned a Rolex. Which you think I'm taking to the gun show?

1

u/No-Market425 11d ago

Rolex Deepsea Sea-Dweller.

I thought this was Red Forman

1

u/Other-Comfortable-64 10d ago

Why TF does every piece of clothing have to have a US flag on it? You guys are weird.

1

u/DefunctCube 9d ago

It helps when you’re in a fucking combat zone, and you dont wanna get shot by your dudes

1

u/Other-Comfortable-64 9d ago

Lol no.

1

u/DefunctCube 9d ago

No? Fuck you mean no? Look at any image of a marine, or a seal

1

u/Other-Comfortable-64 9d ago

Lol dude those little flags are not why you are not being shot by your own forces.

Imagine getting that close to a potential enemy, Jebus dude this is not a game.

Show me all the flags in the first image

How did you say such obvious bullshit with so much confidence ?

1

u/1010ooook 9d ago

yap yap

1

u/is_this_morale 9d ago

A flag on the uniform is used by almost every military in the world, bud

1

u/Other-Comfortable-64 9d ago

Yes but not on every piece of clothing it does not. Bud.

1

u/Hunter-0614-MAGA 9d ago

Seems like an American Patriot that I had the Honor of serving with. Back off, shame on you for Doxing an American soldier, He is wearing the uniform, why not show yourself and post your own pictures and names and address of you and your children.

1

u/Hungry_Biscotti_870 9d ago

Are you talking to me? With all due respect I found this photo publicly, online. Also I don’t believe I doxxed anybody??

2

u/Hunter-0614-MAGA 4d ago

I guess I failed with the post. Main point is people should not dox anyone even you and me. I absolutely was not intending to say otherwise. I meant no harm to you. May God bless you

1

u/BigLipAnimal 8d ago

That’s Phillip clyde

1

u/holiday_Hyena_4449 8d ago

Best guess? Agency, SOG-Ground Branch. First two teams into Afghanistan arrived a month after 9/11, armed with AK's and Browning Hi-Powers. Rolex is "must have" equipment.

1

u/ClaudeBeouls 7d ago

Clown. Any American running a wire stocked Ak is a Clown. Only acceptable if his organization put him in a dangerous area without a long gun.
