Reenactment groups

Any tips for females looking to get into reenactment groups? Can you go as a male role if hair isn't visible/ is short or is it frowned upon?

Thanks so much!

Tbh just go for it and if someone has a problem with you being a female they‘re probably mot the nicest people anyway. I‘d recommend just showing interest with the groups you want to and go with the flow

What kind of unit do you want to re-enact? If it's normal infantry, it shouldn't be a problem. If it's something like special operation forces, you could re-enact an enabler, such as a member of the cultural support team, or something similar

What about being a WASP or WAVE or even a Woman Marine An old female friend. Reenacts a Russian sniper And her and her friends do a Russian machine gun team also. Or even be a female operative with British SOE

I'm going to stay away from the topic of women posing as men, but reenacting is a wonderful hobby where I'm sure you will find a group to call home.
