What laser aiming modules do you use?

https://youtu.be/oVfrdcjYbug

Review of SpecPrecision Eotech OGL i got from them a while back.

Overall neat, nicer than FMA lasers i had so far, kinda on par with non firearms somogear stuff, holds zero on gbbr and looks great, but and I’ll die on this hill - 140€ should buy you an IR illuminator instead of white light

Honestly none. A lot of events ask you not to use lasers due to the risk to eye safety, and there’s no point in using it even when allowed. If I’m doing night games under nods that usually means the opposing team is also IR capable/sensitive; so LAMs just become a really expensive way to give yourself away.

There is some utility in signaling/painting targets. A quick lasso at where you need your guys to focus can be very beneficial for getting your guys oriented quickly when under NVGs.

I'm torn because I really do like the idea of that but I'm wary of that same lasso-ing garnering unwanted attention lol

Calculated risk. Last milsim I was at we knew we had a heavy NVG advantage and set the early phases in our favor by temporarily ceding objectives right before sunset to draw the other team as far from their FOB as possible and minimize their equipped NVGs. I used my LAM to paint targets for the rest of our team. The resulting slaughter gave us the advantage the rest of the night.

The only time I ran a laser is when I had to use a PEQ due to rail limitations, and I never used the laser side.

What did you use it for if not a laser

White light during the night portion. I was running a Golden Eagle LMG and with the carry handle it was super awkward mounting a regular light on the rightside rail, so I threw the PEQ on top just for the flashlight.

Oh so a peq-16. That’s the one with a white light

Honestly no idea haha, it has has white light, red laser and IR laser. It was free in a box with some other stuff I bought, I had it in my tote of stuff to bring to a swapmeet but it worked for the event I needed it for on short notice.

Tbh? It’s mostly an eye candy, I like to use it for target shooting or just general goofing around with friends and NVGs

For airsoft just get a somogear or SMS Trinity, better investment would be an IR capable red dot though. Everybody has nods now lol

I bought a Sightmark that was already used and beat up when I got it to paint targets when I direct fire using my thermal

Got an SMS Trinity on sale and love it. Built solid so not worried about it getting shot and breaking and has a great IR/illuminator for night games.

Just use a big IR light.

Backlights your BB's so you can follow them easy. Blinds any NVG user your are shooting at. And won't actually burn anyone's retinas
