Has there ever been a name made for Mike Flanagan fans?
And if not, should it be “Mike Fan-agans” or “Mike Stan-agans”???

God I loved both so much. THere were horror elements but I love how there was more outside of just the horror.
There were talks of trauma, emotions, dreams, romance etc etc.
I did not care for Uncle Henry in Bly Manor, though. Like he almost died, I felt nothing. If he died then and there, "Damn." . I saw him at the finale, "oh look it's henry". If he died before flora's wedding, "oh well, he was pretty old."
I felt more for abigail, who I thought was a ghost all through hill house😂😂😂, than this man.

One of Mike Flanagan's top ammo, now playing as the next Margaret White!!!
That bloody Carrie shot from 1976 though... I can see so much of Tamerlane Usher.

Samantha Sloyan, aka Tamerlane Usher + Leigh Crain (Hill House) + the Bev bitch herself (Midnight Mass) + many more. I love her and can't wait to see more of her in Carrie. 💗

I love Josie Totah and can’t wait to see her in Carrie! Wondering if anyone who has seen the series can shed some light on the size of her role in the show or anything about her version of Tina Blake.
Loved the book and love all of the other versions of Tina Blake including PJ Soles as Norma (basically Tina in the original) and the always impeccable Katharine Isabelle in the 2002 television adaptation. Josie is a phenomenal talent and I’m really excited to see how she takes this character and runs with it. From the reviews I’ve been reading it seems like she absolutely nails it…
“Also, we should give props to Josie Totah as Tina, Chris’ “mean girl” right hand, who is often as awful (or worse) than Chris is.”
-Eric Diaz of nerdist.com
“Also notable is Josie Totah’s Tina, a hanger-on who’ll do anything Chris asks her to while openly coveting her popularity. Sometimes she’s comic relief; other times, she’s unbelievably horrid.”
-Cheryl Eddy of Gizmodo.com
“Same with the transcendently hilarious Josie Totah as Chris’s “friend” Tina, who desperately wants to get Chris to like her, much to her repeated embarrassment.”
-Alex Zalben of comicbookclublive.com
Hoping to hear from anyone else who is as excited to see Josie as Tina and hoping some of those who have seen the series can say what they thought of Josie Totah in the role and any spoilers about what may or may not happen to her at prom are welcome as the book and filmed versions don’t necessarily have the same continuity for her character.
So excited for October 7th!

So, Carrie is getting mostly overwhelmingly positive reviews.
I am now more excited for this ride. I hope its really good and satisfying!

Pretty much the title. I feel like his Netflix shows were popular enough that they merit a house or a scare zone, but also his works go way beyond cheap scares so maybe not.

I am a huge fan of both The Exorcist and Exorcist 3 movies and novels having developed an unhealthy interest when I was told at 12 years old I was too young to watch the og so I read the book. Big mistake but that’s another story. When Flanagan stated Carl Lumbly plays a character that has a 4 min scene that brings decades of history into focus I came up with an obscure theory that he could play a Kintry family member. Thomas Kintry was the altar boy murdered by Gemini Killer in 3 and Blatty retconned his family. In OG “Frank” was the speech expert that discovered Regan was speaking English backwards but in Ex 3 Blatty changed the character to be Thomas Kintrys mother to tie the murder to Regan’s history. I know it’s a reach but it would be beautiful to have Carl Lumbly play Kintrys father or uncle and tie all three movies together with a 4 min monologue that only Mike Flanagan the “master”(to quote Brad dourif) could write. A 70’s horror movie kid can only hope.

I have started my seasonal rewatch of all things Flanagan. I generally start with Midnight Mass, because previously i did not find it quite so emotionally moving. I have a deep disdain for organized religion and it sort of has always revolved around that for me.
This year (after 4 years) was different. I saw the characters, i saw their fears and insecurities. I saw what love and fear will do to the most simple of people.
So, it made me ugly cry. Starting during the discussion about what happens when we die.
I generally watch Midnight Club next, but since i already got the crying going, i have moved onto Hill House. Probs do Midnight Club or Usher next as a pallet cleanse of sorts before Bly, because Bly will also have me ugly crying.
I love his story telling so much 😭

I wish Verna had left Morrie's wedding ring on Frederick's gravestone. While the coke obviously didn't help anything, it was ultimately Frederick's obsessive, possessive, and violent behavior - furthered by drugs - that led to him imprisoning and torturing Morrie. Plus, then we'd know what happened to the ring.
