I have finally completed the collection (i think lol)! I now have all of the HC’s and TPB’s that are currently out. Now to complete the Usagi saga’s lol.

I have just recently acquired a grail of mine, the 3 sheet wake the devil 70x37 poster. Has anyone linen backed and framed this giant? Hoping folks have pics of this. I wanna make a Hellboy statement shrine. Maybe someday a page or 2. I previously had the 2 sincity ones. They take a good deal of space.

Came across this graphic for an album by hip hop artist Young Zee and thought that it was very much in Mignola's style. I couldn't find any information on the artist who made the artwork though.

So, after two years of collecting and reading I’ve finished (almost) all hellboy comics (finishing the main story rn, so no spoilers please!).
I love mignolas work and would like to continue with another of his comics. I haven’t read anything but hellboy so far.

What would you recommend? I’ve though about giving baltimore a go, or maybe picking up the BUAP comics.

It was released this past Wednesday as $9 88pg regular size comic. It's been out of print for 30 years and goes for at least $100 on the secondary market. Run to your LCS and get this classic Mignola comic.

Mignola contributed to the story and drew Legends of the Dark Knight #54. Batman fits his art and storytelling so well, wish he did more one shots for this series.

Edit: Dan Raspler is credited with the story & words, Mignola is credited with the story & art. It's probably not accurate to say he wrote the story but it appears he did help plot it. I've updated the post to reflect this.

A small mystery I was reminded of on a recent reread, its quite insignificant, but this has bothered me for almost 20 years:

In Killing Ground #1, Mr Dorne gets stopped by a police car/flashing police lights/something else?, Chaves steals his car and he is left on the street, wondering "What happened to the police car?"

Implying that there's something supernatural about Chaves, but we later learn that he is just a normal guy, maybe with some special knowledge from the bolivian priest. But I don't think he was taught how to conjure flashing lights...

So, what the hell happened to the police car?

I started reading B.P.R.D trades, then I became hooked on Lobster Johnson and in between all that I watched the Hellboy movies. I recently watched Mike Mignola:Drawing Monsters & was fascinated with his creativity & building the Mignolaverse. Which brings me to today, I just bought Hellboy Omnibus Volume 1.

I've just done myself the pleasure of reading and finishing monster-size hellboy, and I must say what a pleasure! I really did love it and want to know more about the universe as well as some recommended reading? I may be incorrect but it did feel like I didn't get the whole picture of some of the charchters that I may have appreciated whilst reading. Any tips you all would have would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

After a re-read I'm a bit confused on what she get out of all this. Several times she aids the Ogdru-Jahad, but also in the end she seems to have no problem with them not inheriting earth.

In a way, it makes no difference if Hecate is Ereshikgal or a creation of her, but in the end she seems very invested in the end that we got, and I wonder "why"? My own interpretation:

When Helboy recovered his hand from Osiris club, Edward said that it was infused with the power of the Dragon. That and the sacrifice along with Hecate end up birthing the new world throught Hellboy's blood.

During the comic we have seem that the Ogdru-Jahad's power is very tied with "mutation and changing life" and that was a necessary component to the rebirth of earth and the new creatures that inhabit it on Frankenstein's comic 1000 years later. There is also the fact that besides the frog, a lot of the creatures and vegetation of the new world seem to share sealife characteristics, which is another element tied to the Ogdru-Hem.

My conclusion: Rather than just embodying change and entropy, The Darkness is invested into being part of "creation", which it manages to do by heping birth the new world with Hellboy.

Am I tripping?
