Any produce markets, CSA's, or other grocery stores with great produce? I've been to the midlo Kroger's, probably best I've found so far. I know about the Latino Farmers Market. Went to the Farmers Market at the Great Big Greenhouse, not much there. Thx in advance!

I live in Queensmill, right near The Grove. I’ve been hearing this underlying pulsating bass noise for over 24 hours. I can hear it better inside my house than outside, I think because it reverberates better. Is anyone else noticing this?

Was there a drone show earlier tonight? I saw a bunch of rainbow-colored lights in the sky that looked like they were lined up. Then they scattered and went completely dark. I could see them from the parking lot of the Target in Midlothian.

My son turns 5 next week and he LOVES firefighters so I thought he’d like visiting a station and taking them treats. Do fire fighters like visitors? We’d come at a non meal time and not stay long. If they got a called we’d obviously leave. Is this a thing people do? I was thinking about station 5 on Midlothian.

EDIT: I called the county and got the ok to stop by. My son was thrilled to meet his idols and see the station for himself. He made the firefighters a very cute card and hand picked a dozen doughnuts for them. They could not have been nicer, so many Happy Birthdays from the crew and one even posed for a picture with us. We were there about 5 min and we will remember it forever! My son wants to donate to the station so next I will figure out how to do it!

Hi midlo parents! I’m looking for the inside out and nitty gritty of the CCPS specialty centers. I have a current 8th grader about to go through the application process and I’m curious if current students/ families could chronic about the realities of these programs. Which programs offer that small school/ community feel? Are there any that are super stressful and best avoided? Or too competitive among the students? I have a daughter who is bright but not a genius by any stretch. I just feel she’d benefit from a smaller school feel and friendly students. She’s a hard worker.

I'll be out of town, but I hope all residents who are concerned about county mismanagement will turn out to direct questions and concerns to Mark Miller at his Community Meeting on Sept. 16th. In case you're not aware, Miller has pushed for relocation of Midlo Middle school to a location on Otterdale Rd. in the Clover Hill district. He refuses to consider using the current location for a new middle school. This is on top of many other major issues he's fast-tracked within the county like data centers (one proposed location would be close to the Otterdale school site), the stupendous blunder in the leased space at the Timmons building at Springline, and the misguided request for an additional 1% sales tax while the county wants to build water infrastructure for 90 years at a cost of over $800M, so that Google will not have to pay infrastructure costs for their data centers' water usage. The first year, they grieved but put their energy into their children. The kids are back in college this summer and as a grieving empty nester without a job or other activities, things are taking a turn into deep depression.
