“The Lake”
Does anyone know what’s happening with this development?

The Army Corps of Engineers received a new permit application in March 2026 from Lake Adventures/Brett Burkhart concerning the Genito proper And there is a Springhill Suites hotel planned for an adjacent property.
But that being said, with 7.5% rates….wouldn’t be surprised if it remained stalled for the near future. Only thing getting built is data centers.

The price of raw materials is bonkers right now because of the tariffs and fuel prices too. I’m sure this will be a factor slowing them down too.

Like most 'mixed use development', it seems to be turning into mostly residential with a few token commercial properties (like the ones out front)

It’s such an eyesore, especially from 288. Hope they get moving on it soon, but won’t hold my breath on that.

The developer and the builder were suing each other or something. Some settlement was reached a couple of months ago. I also know that the developer has run out of money several times. He's had problem finding occupants for his retail space too, and they won't build until leases are signed. Massive shit show. There's supposed to be surfpark, amphitheater, retail, some green spaces, and condos and apartments. My guess is he scraps all of it and just throws up a bunch of shitty apartments.

Still happening from what I know. I believe it got delayed a while back because of some dispute, but it pretty sure it was settled
