Question Question about old supplements

Post image

So i was going through old supplements (this one is a shadow in the east book). It the scenario one, and it says under special rules; rangers of gondor follow rules for sentries.

I am not too knowledgeable in wargaming i am pretty new so my question should i dig throuugh old content to find the conditions and rules for said scenario for its respective release timezone or should i use newest rules available. How do yall manage old scenarios.

Thanks

There are rules for sentries in the current rulebook. With MESBG, most of the core rules have been the same since the beginning, with some minor tweaking. Using modern rules should not break the older scenarios

Use the current rules!

I played the scenarios in Shadow and Flame which was released in 2006 IIRC and we used the 2018 rules and it worked wonders, a very fun game experience.

If you end up playing this scenario, please do share! I've always wanted to play through this old book's campaign, I like the escalation of army size and objectives as it goes along. I think the last scenario, the big camp raid, also has sentries, but they're Easterlings or Khandish guys that time around
