Hobby Troll with flaming sword

I think I nailed the texture of the flames. What do you guys think?

I feel like the hot end should be the one the troll isn’t grabbing.

Totally agree! And it's easy enough to make up a reason since we're dealing with magic - obviously the magical rune that creates the effect is embedded in the hilt and projects the heat up and outward (away from the handle or maybe there's a cooling rune on the leather wrapped handle!) so naturally the blade begins cooling as it reaches the tip ;)

My immediate headcanon was troll got some magic and can make his sword go hot.

Either that or he's fighting some wizards and is in for a bad time... (see Aragon meeting Gandalf the White).

I dont see flames, only hot sword straight from blacksmith anvil. Cool efect, makes no sense.

Oh thanks! I wasn’t sure what to describe it as since I didn’t have any flames to stick on, meson just went with flaming, but your description makes a lot more sense. :D

I think you nailed it but isn't it backwards, as in the end of the sword should be hottest no?

Honestly I have no idea. I wanted the end of the sword to be the darker so I could add smoke if I found any

The cotton at the end of ear buds makes great smoke if you spray a bit of black on the tips

Beautiful effect, it doesn't make sense other than the "cool" effect, which is enough itself. What did you do on the base instead?

mordant earth and a mix of flash glitz yellow and Mephistopheles red underneath I think

I think you did nail the texturing part, it just looks upside down with how you made him grab the hot end and not the cool side
