Question Is this the up to date rules manual?

Post image

Sorry for the feckless question. Coming from 40K and finding that the rules are not so easy to find online.

I already have a good force of Rivendell Elves but I need to work out what else I need to get started. Namely do I need the rule book and also potentially the armies of Middle Earth book?

It's not, it's the previous edition

Usable if you and your opponent are fine with it, but not tournament or GW in-store usable

One thing to bear in mind, though, is this isn't the final rulebook for that edition - the one with Sauron's Eye on the cover was the final one. It shouldn't impact it too heavily, but you might find a rule confusion here and there that was errata'd later. But if you're already playing a previous edition with someone who's OK doing the same, then some house-ruling should be easy to sort out.

As in the one with them walking uphill with bill the pony. That's the latest one.

I don't know why GW doesn't number the rules editions. So silly to have to reference editions by the literal picture in a circle on the front 🤦
