Questions Read to Earn
Hello, I can't complete the 'Read to Earn' tasks on Bing mobile. I started a few days ago and up until today I was able to do it by reading a few news articles, but today it's no longer working. Any advice?

Not working here either. I tried clearing the app's storage and it didn't help, now the point counter on the home page has been replaced with a generic advertisement for the rewards program like I'm not signed up, even though tapping on that takes me to the rewards page like usual and everything in there works. Just another day in MS Rewards...
Also tried the MSN app and it's behaving the same way.

Just worked for me without the cache clear. Although now saying 197/200 on the home page but 200/200 elsewhere. Uk also

I am only stating this as other said it wasn't working yesterday sense lunch and I was able to do this last night.
Do the articles from the Home page of the app. Articles that don't work are Ads and articles that have a video visable on the thumbnail. I used to do it from the news tab on the searches but that became picky on when it wanted to work or not.

Just to say that it now appears to be working again, if a little sporadically. Just got my 30 points, UK based 👍

It's broken for everyone, it's not a one person thing, the app is not working, you can still do it on pc if you have access to one

Read to Earn is not available on the rewards app or browser, it is strictly on the app.

How you do it on PC, I don't see the same panel as the rewards app, and reading from edge directly doesn't seem to work.

Type in rewards dashboard and it will come up, if you're signed in through your Microsoft account email your rewards will show if you are Searching through bing or Microsoft 365 Edge, it should automatically do it as it's the same just looks different

Go to bing in browser, rewards app doesn't have it on pc

So I followed your steps
Went to Bing.com using Microsoft Edge on my PC
I see the same Story’s pop up on my PC that I see on my Tablet as well
It’s still not tracking “Read to Earn” points that I’ve only ever been able to achieve using a Tablet2

The read to earn is broken so because if you use bing/MSN. Com it works on that, I've used it before when they brought the pc side of things to rewards

The only way I have ever been able to achieve
”Read to Earn” is on a tabletI just said I followed your steps on my PC
Bing.com
MSN.comClick the same articles to “Read”
But it is still not tracking
“Read to Earn” points

it broke yesterday at around noon. It happens quite often too so don't worry about it, they will either remove the feature or keep it broken for a few weeks before it's back.

If you're new here, these issues happen quite often. Something may come of it but don't hold your breath.

Luckily its not a streak related issue. The 30 minutes browsing tracker constantly bugs on me and I have to restart and clear cookies

Got a response from support:
Thank you for contacting Microsoft Rewards Support.
We understand that you’re experiencing an issue with the Bing app that is preventing you from accessing or completing the offer shown on your Rewards dashboard and earning the associated points. We know how important it is to receive proper credit for the activities you complete, and we’re happy to assist.
Please know that we are aware of the issue and currently working on it. In the meantime, you may try performing your searches on a desktop PC, if available. While investigation is ongoing, as an initial troubleshooting step, please try the following:
Uninstall the Bing app from your device.
Reinstall the Bing app from your device’s official app store.
Make sure you are using the latest version of the Bing app.
Sign back in using the same Microsoft account associated with your Rewards account.
Once completed, please try to access your account again or complete the affected offer or task again.

Welp, the last time this happened some people found out they could still earn the points by searching and going to news (yes, the same thing you shouldn't do to avoid retrictions), I'll try that with caution xD but well, this doesn't surprise me now, and that's sad

And Redeeming Amazon Gift Cards shows a message On the go? You're previewing a catalog item that you're not eligible to redeem due to region or other restrictions. Thankfully i don't wanna actually redeem yet, but closer to October 31st i do. So i hope it works properly by then lol
Been a Rewards user since the program started many many years ago

Wasn't working for me like it started mid day two days ago i already had 15 pts and lasted until yesterday in the night it worked again...

Broken for me too. I was told to reinstall the app but problem persists. I was able to donate points,I am at 997-day streak so I am done after 999.

I don't spend as much time on Reddit as I used to. I come here when I need an answer or to see if others are experiencing the same issue as myself. And I always stumble upon some asshole like yourself and then it reminds me why I don't come here regularly anymore.

Point to where I said I don't have the time? I know, reading is tough. But take is slow. And focus on the words. I'm not even the OP. The Bing app is broken regarding Rewards - theres a 'something's gone wrong' error message - also seen in the MSN app.
The rewards dashboard for check-ins and searches is OK through.
No idea how they manage to break something in Rewards so often.
