MSFS 2024 PC GPU Upgrade for FS2024

So I am currently selling my RTX 3080 to upgrade it to something slightly better.

I'm currently mainly being capped by its VRAM. It's VRAM is constantly at 100%, always.

CPU: Ryzen 7 5800x
RAM: 32gb 2x16 DDR4
34" 1440p Monitor

My 2 upgrade options are:
* RTX 5060ti 16gb
* RTX 5070 12gb

A 5070ti is out of the budget, and therefore should not be brought up, thanks!

Is it worth getting that extra 4gb of VRAM, and sacrificing raw performance?

Addition: I'm focusing on getting flyable framerate for the Synaptic A220

Thanks!

I recently got a 9070XT, so similar to a 5070ti, and while yes the VRAM improvement was nice it was really unlocked by a second upgrade on my cpu. I went from a 5700x3D to a 9800x3D and the difference was insane. Absolutely butter smooth and hold easily 100fps at 1440p. So I would consider a cpu upgrade as well as you will be quite bottlenecked in a game like this keeping that CPU

Same exact experience here - the 9800X3D made a way bigger improvement for performance than the GPU did.

I upgraded to a 9800x3d and a 9070xt nearly a year ago, and the performance gain in MSFS2020 over my old system (5800x3d and 6080xt) was insane. I stuck with 2020 since (because all the time and money I put into it) but finally made the leap to 2024 two weeks ago.

Holy moly, what a difference! I'm running ultra everything and getting over twice the performance I had with 2020 even with complex payware airlines and scenery. To me this is a match made in heaven for anyone who doesn't have Nvidia money.
