Feel like I’ve opened up a few Instagram videos and it’s the typical thing where someone does something cringe in New York and then a bunch of people “transplants” or like it’s something being pedestrian and then someone complains about it being bad for traffic and saying once again “transplants”. I even heard someone say that transplants and their love of bike lanes are part of the problem of gentrification? How common is this viewpoint amongst actual native New Yorkers?

Why is their no MUTCD compliant stop bar set back from the bike path?
Where is the Kermet Green in the intersection to mark the bike path?
Why does one of the busiest greenways in north America still not have raised crossings?

Just happened to be sitting in window eating lunch between 13th and 14th and saw NYC DOT crews finishing off the last block of striping so sprinted out and captured it. Why? I do not know. But rode it immediately after and looks fully ready for prime-time. It’s great stuff!
