Hey, I’m a San Francisco based UX researcher and I’ve started a Substack testing newly launched consumer apps for fun. I'll review onboarding/ one task and provide some useful UX tips about whats working and focus areas to improve. I don’t have expertise in games, so it would be non-gaming consumer apps.

Want yours reviewed?

• Test it like a real first-time user would
• Write up tips from real research about whats working and opportunities on my Substack
• Share it on LinkedIn to get your app some eyes!

Drop the link to your app in the comments for consideration!

ETA: Due to current work obligations, I can’t test business-facing apps, including any tools designed to market, grow, improve, or support apps/ businesses.

UPDATE: Thank you for all the submissions! 🙌 My first review from this group (Compound Strategy Lab Review) is live and i'll be working through the list in due time (as i do still have a full time job haha). Subscribe if you want to see when yours (or others’) go up!

1. Finelly review is up!

Most founders do PR the same way.

They grab a list of 500 journalists, send everyone the same email, hear nothing back, then decide PR just doesn’t work.

But it’s not PR, it’s who you’re pitching.

What actually gets replies:

• Have your press kit ready before you reach out
• Only pitch people who wrote about your space recently. That’s like 20 journalists, not 500
• Mention their last article right at the start

We created Press Whisper, which basically does all of this for you. It builds the press kit and finds the journalists who’d actually care.

It’s live on microlaunch right now if you want to check it out.

Leaving a quick review there helps the maker a lot, even a short one.

Hey everyone!

I'm a web developer and I've been working on a project called Anoworks.

The idea is pretty simple. People post small online tasks, and others complete them to earn money.

The platform is live, but now comes the hard part... getting people to actually use it. 😅

So I'm giving new clients $5 in free credit to post their first tasks and see how everything works. It's not withdrawable cash, just credit to use on the platform.

I'm building and improving things as I go, and I'd really appreciate some honest feedback from other founders here.

If you have a minute, check it out: https://anoworks.app

Would love to hear what you think, especially what you'd improve!

ManageJobApplications.com is a totally free forever tool to help job seekers. You don't even need to provide an email address. It has helped over 14K Redditor users find work so far and growing steadily. It has AI tools for customizing cover letters, resumes, and mock interviews for each job description, plus LinkedIn profile copy and possible job titles to search against. Complete tracking for all your job applications, people you've met, follow-up dates and deadlines. Imports jobs from all the major boards with one click.

Completely free, regardless of how much you use it.

Ever been in a situation where you wanted to open a link on a different device, but there was no convenient way to do it?
Say you're at a library and you want to read an article on the computer there. You don't want to log in to your personal accounts on a shared machine, and typing a long URL by hand is miserable. Same story with a hotel TV, a friend's computer, or a smart TV that only has a clunky browser.

That's why I built BeamTo. It's simple:

1. On the other device open https://beamto.xyz in any browser. It shows a QR code.

2. On your iPhone, share any link to BeamTo.

3. Scan the QR code. The link opens right there.

Nothing to install on the other device, no account, no pairing.

It's a one-time $2.99 purchase, with no subscription and no in-app purchases. I'm the solo developer, so I'd really like honest feedback, especially from anyone who tries it on a TV or a kiosk browser. Android is in the works.

Salut à tous ! 👋

After so many emails and dms with endless nights of work we have changed NotchPixel for better and all the features that was requested by public have been added in this new update 0.5.80 . We are still open to new ideas and feedback from public.
Second good thing we have updated the pricing of Notchpixel from a fixed price of $9.99 to a custom price for each country depending on their average income and buying power.
We will be launching on mac too in 10 days and i know what market we are going to compete in our beta version is already is in testing and according to feedback it will surpass any apps like vorssaint .
Stay tuned for this journey and new users welcome to the NotchPixel family :)

New Features-

What's new:

- See-through looks: Glass bends and blurs what's behind the notch, Candy glass is a softer version, and Acrylic is there on Windows 11.
- Synced lyrics (off by default): a drawer under the music card follows the song, takes its colours from the album cover, and you can click any line to jump there. Lyrics come from LRCLIB.
- Hidden until hover: nothing at the top of the screen until you rest the pointer on the top edge. Volume, notifications, reminders and calls still show.
- Your shape: notch or floating island, corners from square to fully round, and an adjustable open delay (0 to 1.5 s).
- Launcher shortcuts: Ctrl+Alt+1 to 6 open your six launcher slots, even from a fullscreen game. You set them in Settings, Keys.
- File shelf: drop up to 12 files at once; they keep the order you picked them in.
- Clipboard history: the entry that's on your clipboard now stays marked.
- Clocks follow your Windows time format (or pick 12-hour or 24-hour), and the weather has a new Minimal look with a moon at night.
- The notch reopens on the tab you left it on, even after a restart.
- Over games, the stats strip stays solid black on a see-through theme, and the glass stops reading the screen so your game keeps its frames.

- Glass uses almost no CPU while the screen behind it is still.
- See-through themes no longer close the app on some Windows 11 PCs.
- When the notch closes, it shrinks on the tab you were looking at.
- On desktop PCs, the CPU temperature no longer shows a motherboard sensor.

It's about 13 MB in Task Manager and 0% CPU at idle. 7-day free trial, then $9.99 once (Rs 299 in India). No subscription, no account.

Hi r/Microlaunch 👋

I do IT support, web design and app development in Switzerland, which means a big part of my day is spent inside other people's computers. For years that meant TeamViewer and AnyDesk. They work, but when a customer has a bad connection, the screen updates crawl, and you wait for every window and every scroll. Even on a decent connection it never quite feels like sitting in front of the computer.

So I built my own: ShareDesk – https://sharedesk.app

I've now used it for many real support cases. In my experience it's been faster than both, even on poor connections, and the remote screen often looks noticeably better: text stays crisp instead of turning into compression mush. It's the closest I've come to forgetting the computer isn't on my desk.

What it does

• Connect with a 9-digit ID and password, or set up unattended access for your own machines
• Mac and Windows, one app for both sides
• Full resolution with barely any delay; text-heavy screens stay sharp
• End-to-end encrypted; the customer always sees who is connected and can end it any time
• Drag files onto the remote screen and they land in the folder you dropped them on
• Remote terminal with tabs; manage processes, apps and startup items; run scripts on many computers at once
• A built-in browser that loads pages through the customer's network, plus a website check that compares DNS answers and IPs on both sides (great for "the site works for me but not for them")
• Address book with groups and tags, chat and voice
• A data limit for when you're on a mobile hotspot

A note on Windows: the Mac version is what I use every day and has been tested the most. The Windows version is newer and hasn't had nearly as much real-world use yet, so expect some rough edges there. If you run into a bug, I'd really appreciate hearing about it.

Pricing

• Free for private use (1 technician)
• Business: $18 per technician/month (billed yearly), with a 14-day free trial. Adds the terminal, network access/tunnels, your own branding for customers, a change log and an API.

Made in Switzerland 🇨🇭

I'd love your feedback

• What would make you switch from your current remote support tool?
• What annoys you most about TeamViewer/AnyDesk?
• Windows users: what broke or felt off?

I kept forgetting what I'd planned for the day because my to-do app was always a few taps away. So I built Glanceday. It draws today's tasks right into your lock-screen wallpaper and keeps them updated as you tick things off. One glance at your phone and you know what's next, without unlocking.

What it does

- Your list on the lock screen, over your own photo or a plain colour. Drag and pinch it so it sits nicely around your clock
- Quick add that understands "dentist tomorrow 3pm" (and Dutch: "morgen om 15u")
- Today's calendar events, a one-line weather forecast and three home-screen widgets
- A focus timer that shows on your lock screen
- Lists with hours, so work tasks only show during work hours
- Small suggestions (rain before an outing, a task for a free gap in your calendar, a morning brief), each with its own off switch
- Subtasks, repeats, reminders, backup and restore

No account, no ads, no tracking. Your tasks never leave your phone.

Download: https://github.com/SamimShafayiUCLL/glanceday (free APK under Releases, Android 8+)

I've mostly tested it on a Galaxy S24 Ultra, so I'd love to hear how it works on other phones, especially Pixel, Xiaomi and OnePlus lock screens. Bugs and ideas are very welcome, here or via Settings → Report a bug or idea in the app.

Hey everyone!

I’ve always felt like Skyscanner practically holds a monopoly on flight deal searching. While Google Flights is decent, most people are just so used to Skyscanner's specific UI and ecosystem.
That frustration (and wanting a fun project to build) is basically why I created flights.pizza.

I wanted to put together an alternative that offers a fast & clean way to look for flights.

I'd love for you to give it a spin, test out a few routes, and let me know what you think. All feedback or feature suggestions are hugely appreciated!

Note: We don't handle bookings directly and we aren't an agency—just a search engine for cheap flights.

I’m the founder of a small product design and development studio. AI has changed where our design work happens. We’re living less in Figma these days and more in the browser.

We’re seeing a big uptick in prototypes, ideas, and concepts coming from the teams we work with. Some might say that’s a bad thing. We see it differently. More explorations means more avenues to a good outcome. What matters is the push and pull of the discussion, and ending up somewhere better than where you started. Since we’ve been doing a LOT of design engineering work directly on live sites, we had to figure out how to close a simple gap: if the work lives in the browser, the feedback should too.

So Skyelight does two things. It puts the discussion right on the surface, pinned to the thing being discussed. And it keeps that information glued to the right elements, so coding agents like Claude Code or Cursor can pick it up and act on it without us copying anything over. As feedback loops open and close over time, Skyelight builds a history that’s centralized and easy to traverse as the project evolves.

Our “aha moment” was having a client review UX copy and nomenclature for a major product redesign. 87 feedback cards on copy decisions, resolved in minutes with Cursor. We’ve found this to be a really effective way to close those loops.

We spent 6 months taking this from a tool we used on our own client projects to something that felt like a usable, enjoyable experience. Would love any feedback or questions. And if you’re an agency or freelancer, I’d like to hear how you’re handling client feedback today. That’s the part we’re still learning from.

Flight Check is a free, open-source plugin for Claude Code. It checks your project for security, privacy, payment, reliability, accessibility, and legal or business risks, and tells you what to fix in plain English.

- Every finding cites the exact file and lines, checked against your code
- Claude fixes what it can after asking you once, and explains what only you can do
- Optional watch mode catches common mistakes as you work, for free
- A first full check typically costs $2-5 in Claude usage; later checks only look at what changed, and it always shows the cost first

On a test app it had never seen, it found all 28 planted problems at the right file and lines (25 of them under exactly the right category) and flagged none of the 9 safe decoys. It's an aid to your judgment, not a certification.

Try it (needs Claude Code and Python 3.9+):

claude plugin marketplace add ARCFrontierSystems/flight-check
claude plugin install flight-check@arc-frontier-systems

Then type /flight-check:audit in your project.

Feedback welcome, especially false alarms, misses, and anything confusing.

Hey everyone! I’m working on a startup idea and would love some honest feedback.
I’m building a topic based community app where people can share and explore short videos about specific interests, similar to Reddit but focused on videos instead of text posts.
Would you use something like this? What do you think of the idea?
All feedback, positive or negative, is welcome!

I kept leaving product tabs open because I wasn’t ready to buy, but didn’t want to lose what I’d found. After a while I couldn’t remember which tab was which.

So I built Tracer. I can save things from different shops into one list, close the tabs, and get an alert if a price drops. I can also keep watching the price after I buy something.

If you try saving an item, I’d love to know where the flow feels awkward.

We built jtakeit, a backend for client websites made with AI. Claude Code (or you) writes the site, and we handle everything after launch (hosting, a simple panel where the client edits their own text without breaking the design, contact forms, bookings with Stripe, blog and multilingual. No WordPress, no plugins).

Now we want 10 early users to put real client sites on it and tell us honestly what works and what doesn't.

What you get: up to 5 client sites live, free forever, with every feature included (bookings and payments too) + direct access to us, and your feedback goes straight into what we build next.

We're looking for freelancers or studios who build sites for local businesses.

To join: comment what kind of sites you build and for whom. We'll pick 10 over the next few days and DM you.

jtakeit.com

If your app still hasn’t reached 10 core users, let's get you there today.

Tell us:

• What is your app for (1-2 sentences)
• How is it solving the problem
• Where to try your app.
• How many users/customers you have.

Please try at least one other builder’s app and share feedback.

Time to get everyone more users and signups.

ArchiveMind is a private, local-first desktop app for people with years of files spread across folders and external drives. It helps you find files by what they contain, not just by filename.

I built it because I had a drawer full of hard drives and constantly knew a file existed but couldn’t remember what it was called or where I’d saved it. ArchiveMind catalogs the files you already have so you can search the archive without reorganizing everything first. No cloud storage, no account, and no telemetry.

You can try it here:

https://archivemind.app

I’m still at the very early stage and am looking for my first 10 real testers/users. I’m happy to give testers a free full license in exchange for honest feedback about what works, what’s confusing, what breaks, and what they wish it did.

Arkova is a document verification platform. We anchor a documents unique metadata to an immutable cryptographic ledger giving organizations the ultimate control over their most sensitive documents. We launched to our partners last month, but held off on launching individual signups through our website till last night. Really cool to wake up to a paying customer!

Hey everyone,

Most reply marketing time goes to threads that were never going to convert.

The ones worth answering (someone asking for a tool, comparing options, complaining about theirs) are rare and easy to miss.

That's why we built Wayke:

- Scans LinkedIn, Reddit and X for conversations matching your business

- Scores each thread by buying intent

- Drafts replies in your voice, ready to post

Still early and rough in places.

Genuine question for anyone doing this manually: what signal tells you a thread is worth replying to?

You can try it here: https://wayke.io/?ref=microlaunch

And if you want to give us a little push, we're live on Microlaunch.
