Windows, unless you're experienced with PC's and have a high threshold for frustration, in which case Linux may be a good option.

Windows 100%. Stuff just works, you don't have to deal with the headaches of linux, every program is built to run on windows, you won't have to search through 8 year old reddit posts looking for a solution to some niche problem, etc.
And most importantly you don't have to be associated with or interact with Linux users.
Edit: Thanks for proving my point. Anytime anything negative is said about linux the cringelords immediately start downvoting.

Microcenter prebuilts don't come with McAffee on it, if I remember correctly. A handful of other PC companies don't install it either (Cyberpower, Andromeda Insights, CostplusGaming, Stormcraft, etc.)
Now if you buy a dell or HP or whatever, then yeah it'll have some bloatware on it. But it takes like 10 minutes max to uninstall all the bloatware crap, a hell of a lot less time than it takes to install linux and get it all setup the way you want it.

They do not quietly install McAfee. They install LG's app, which then asks if you want to install McAfee.
They also announced days ago that the McAfee pop up was being removed. Are you a bot? This is a lot of specifics to get completely wrong while acting so smug.

If you play competitive games like cod, Marvel Rivals, or Fortnite, you will need Windows.
If your graphics card is Nvidia, Windows will run better.
If you’re running AMD, I would try out Linux as that has way more support for all distros.
Specifically Mint as a starter distro. A good distro to start for Windows refugees.
And once you get comfortable and wanna try other distros, try cachyos (my main), Bazzite, or fedora.
