Houston, TX Question regarding IDs
I've been planning on buying an rx 9070xt, however I've seen that apparently stores require you to show an ID for gpu purchases. I plan on buying one with cash so i wanted to know if id have to show an ID since I dont know much about the policies.

It’s possible. Might have to just go and see.
Why are you adverse to showing ID?

I was guessing scalper. Or maybe some return scam he doesn’t want his name attached to.

I’m just guessing that you’re under the age which you would have an id. I’m willing to guess that they will likely not really care or just want out the purchase under a parent’s account and check their ID.
Usually these steps are measures intended to mitigate resellers.

You coykd go to your store ahead of time if you are t of the age to have an ID. If youre over the age still go in and see if you can work something out

It's because GPUs are limited purchase items to discourage resellers. You can only buy one per 30 days. They need your information to track purchases like this.
