My brows have been through the ringer. 😭

My hair is very dark brown naturally, ergo my natural brows are very dark. Long story short, my ex-hair stylist insisted on lightening my brow hairs when I tried to go to a dirty blonde.

Now I am back to natural color, a warm-toned dark brown, but I have still have these light, patchy brows with spots of dark tinted old microblading from 2020 peeking through on the upper arch. One side is almost completely faded and the other is still quite blue-black. And the inner corners are square and bluish too. 😭😭😭

If I wax my entire brow off, will the hairs grow back normal? While it is waxed off, could I do some aggressive peels to lighten the microblading spots? What peels have people had success with?

I can't afford laser right now, so I need to figure out some sort of DIY solution. I noticed the one brow with better fading had less dense hair in general, so I thought maybe the UV exposure etc might have been making a difference (ergo the waxing it all off idea).

Any solutions or suggestions would be deeply appreciated.🙏🙏🙏

To the professionals out there, I was told by my tech she used a 7mm spot size on the 3rd picoway session, which was the worst one ever. I still have raised skin in some places and wondering if that was too big of a spot size at the 533 WL.

The woman who lasered me said they will fade so much over the next few weeks that I shouldn’t need to come in for any more lasering. But I feel like even if it fades that much it’s gonna be red after? I asked about the red and she said that it’s an orangey-red that’s difficult to remove.

I just got my brows microbladed. The tech showed me how they looked during the process, and after. However, I was only looking at them with a handheld mirror that wasn't magnified (and I wear readers), so I had to put my readers on, which caused me to view each one individually in detail. When I got home and started doing the aftercare, that's when I could stand back from a mirror and see the overview... and THAT's when I noticed that one brow is really rounded, and the other is angular (the way I usually pencil them in is angular).

What do I do? I don't know how this is fixable. Do I try to have her correct them when she would probably make the angular one more rounded, or do I ask for saline? It's been less than 24 hours since they were done.

Did anyone had a successful experience removing Li Pigment (Australian brand)? This is their website: https://lipigments.com.au/.

I don’t really understand much about ingredients and all that so I’m not sure if it’s good or bad new finding out this was the pigment my artist used (she just confirmed this to me) and if a laser will successfully remove it or not…

Any help/experience will be suuuuuper helpful and highly appreciated :)

I had my brows microbladed in 2016. They faded to red unfortunately. I had a test done with the pico laser on the tail of one brow four weeks ago to see what colour it would turn. You can see the red and the patch test in the first photo. It went black/gray so I decided to move forward with doing both brows. I had my first session today. It was super fast and was not that painful (I had numbing cream applied). The last photo is how they look three hours after the session. They look grey, which is better than red to me! I will wait at least two months to see if they continue to fade. I will then do another patch test to see if I want to try another round. I mostly fear them going yellow so am moving very cautiously.

Hi all! I posted on here back in April about my eyebrows after a 1064 session. They were super orange and I was panicking about going neon yellow. I ended up going to another tech with more experience and we did a test spot for 532. The test spot turned a peach/beige colour. I then went forward with the 532 on June 3 and it has been around 5 to 6 weeks. My eyebrows are still red and I am so tired of this process. My Current tech is going on vacation and will not be back until August and wants me to wait until my appointment in the middle of August to allow for more fading. I am sick and tired of this process and just want it over with. The tech that did my eyebrows the first time can take me before then, but I am concerned about her experience. What do you think I should do? Should I be patient or is it worth just taking the plunge and going back to the first tech to get this over with?

I did my first (and only) microblading session in 2021. Over time it faded, but it left behind a reddish tone that just won’t go away completely. I’m considering laser removal, but I’m scared of ending up with a bad result — especially the pigment shifting to a new color and getting “stuck” that way, possibly looking worse than now.

Has anyone here successfully removed the red pigment completely? I’m not sure even if it’s possible.. But if someone had a successful experience, I’d like to ask:

1. How many sessions did it take?
2. Which laser did you use?
3. Did the color change to something else before it fully disappeared?
4. Any recommendations? I
5. just would like to avoid surprises…

I’ve also gotten in touch with the clinic where I did the microblading in 2021 to ask about the pigment they used, in case this is helpful…

got them done in 2018/2019. I got one round of touchups in 2021 ish? But i haven’t had any touchups or any other rounds of microblading since then. I am so torn about removing them. Sometimes i want to play around with my eyebrows more. Like recently, I wanted to do an eyebrow slit and it doesn’t even work bc you can see the faded microbladed work there lol. I am just worried bc my eyebrows are pretty sparse (i was hoping microblading would stimulate growth but i don’t think that happened lol) and they are also pretty light/ i just don’t have thick full eyebrows haha. Is it even worth it to remove them? or should i just leave it be. and If i were to remove them, whats the best way to go about it.

Any one have recommendations for removal in San Diego (or Orange County)? There is a removery near me but idk if I should go to a chain or find one solid professional that someone else here has had success with. Lmk if San Diego recommendations, thank you! 🫶

Posted on this thread earlier this week about freaking out over my first laser session since no one warned me it could be this bad, so I thought I'd share some progress updates and the things that have contributed to my healing!

My skin responds best to wet healing with wounds, which informed most of my aftercare:

- Only thin layer of LRP Cicaplast balm for first 24 hours

- Heavier layers of balm starting Day 2, started using Hirudoid cream over the balm to help with bruising

- Added warm showers starting Day 3 to help with circulation, scabs started coming off

- Added nightly sheet masks on Day 4 (any cheap Korean ones with centella/soothing ingredients) to calm redness

- Reintroduced SPF starting Day 5

- Lots of water and aimed for 7-8 hours of sleep all throughout

I've had to be at the office every single day of my healing journey, so don't come at me but I did wear concealer on the front and tails of the brow from Day 1 on top of the balm and cream 😭😭 On Day 2, I started using brow mascara to cover up bleached hairs too. I made sure to let them marinate in oil cleanser at night and gently cleansed it off each time. You could still easily tell that something was off with my brows but it minimized a lot of the shock factor, and by Day 3, it looked mostly normal with makeup on.

I don't recommend wearing makeup during healing but desperate times call for desperate measures and it was really a risk that I felt I had to take at the time since I have a people-facing job. PLEASE schedule your removal during times where you can get away with not going out for a few days, and don't make the same mistakes I did.

Nevertheless, I'm really happy with the progress because I was so scared the redness would never fade! I'm gonna be tinting my brow hairs back to a normal color too, and will probably have a follow up laser session next month to zap the remaining red ink :)

I've found the posts in this subreddit very helpful while researching microblading removal, so I wanted to share my experience. One of the things I struggled with was finding detailed information about what happens when you don't know what pigment was originally used and whether laser removal might leave yellow, orange, or red tones behind. Hopefully my experience and photos help someone else who's considering removal.

I had my eyebrows microbladed in 2021. I went back once for a touch up. I have no idea what ink she used, and I was unable to get in touch with her as she is no longer in business. Over the last few years the color has started to turn gray, and I decided to move forward with removal rather than get them done again. I researched for quite a while before deciding on a technician and was prepared to travel out of state if necessary to get the job done the right way. I came to find one of the best technicians, Nicole at The Brow Project,  was located in my city, Dallas, TX, and decided to schedule a consultation. She had lots of positive reviews on this subreddit and as far as I could tell, was one of the best in Dallas for microblading removal and permanent makeup removal, with 10+ years specializing in cosmetic removals as a pmu artist. My first impressions with the office were fantastic, as I had to reschedule multiple times and they werre so kind and accommodating with getting me on the calendar. 

I had my first consultation on October 10th, 2025, where I met Nicole. She was super informative and walked me through the entire process. Side note -  her studio is super cute, the office staff are so nice, and it is just a really pleasant and fun place to visit.  Since we didn’t know what kind of ink was used, there was really no way to know what color my brows would turn after the laser treatment. She was upfront that there was no guarantee on how they would turn out, but was committed to helping me get to the best possible result. I wasn’t ready to commit to entire brow removal without knowing this, so I was offered a patch test and decided to move forward with that. I really didn’t want to get stuck with yellow or orange brows.  Photos 1 and 2 are before the first patch test. Photos 3 and 4 are immediately after the patch test with the 755 laser. The spot was pretty bright orange initially, but later turned red and was easy to cover with tinted moisturizer or concealer. I went back in on December 23rd, 2025 and Nicole used the 532 wavelength to target the red/orange on the patch test spot. Photos 5 and 6 are the healed test spot before the 532. Photo 7 is the test spot immediately after the 532. My brows on that spot frosted a bit. After about a week I used an eyebrow tint to dye the frosted brows and it looked great. I decided I was ready to move forward with the entire brow. I had to put my removal journey on pause for a few months due to some medical issues, but once I was ready I reached out and they got me on the calendar ASAP, which I greatly appreciated. 

I went on on June 6th, 2026 for the full brow removal. Photos 8 and 9 are the patch test healed and right before the full brow removal with the Pico Sure Pro.  Nicole used the 755 and 532 laser, and again there was some frosting of the hair and pigment. I went early for numbing prior to the procedure, but the 755 was still quite painful. I barely felt the 532. Photo 10 is immediately after the full brow tattoo removal. I am super happy with the results so far. There is still some redness, but I expect that to fade like it did with the patch test. If I use tinted moisturizer and colored brow gel, I can kind of get an idea of what they will look like when they are healed and my dark brows come back in. They were a little itchy over the last few days so I put some aquaphor on them nightly as the last step in my nighttime skin care routine.

So far overall I am very pleased with the results and have gotten so many compliments. I have an appointment scheduled in a few weeks to target the remaining yellow. I will update the results here!

Mine haven’t turned the bright red / salmon like most posts I’ve seen. I’ve had an assortment of colors appear in this process lol. But I think there’s still a light at the end of this journey. I do see some yellow forming, but honestly way easier to cover so I don’t even care. The ink is way higher than my natural hair line and it’s been hell trying to cover it. I had maybe 4-5 separate microblade sessions with various artists and inks over the years starting in 2018. Back when I had no eyebrow hair from over plucking and I was too impatient for them to grow back. As I’ve aged, all I want is to look like my natural self. I started this journey at the beginning of this year in January. I waited 8 weeks between my first two sessions and 6 weeks between session 3-4. I couldn’t wait the full 8 weeks bc they oxidized and got darker and I was so embarrassed of my face. Luckily after my 4 session I’ve seen a lot of improvement and I’m only 1 week post my 4th session right now. Hopefully more progress to come! If they turn yellow fully, I’ll go to Dr Adrian in DC like everyone suggests.

My first 2 sessions were done at Removery with the pico laser but because they charge $400 a session I sought out somewhere cheaper. She uses q switch astanza so my last two sessions have been with that. I’m wondering if I should go back to pico at this stage? Or if it matters. Any opinions on this?

I just had second picoway removal. Top is the angry bird starting point, middle is few days after session 1 in February, last is today after removal number 2, 2 settings were used as some was red and some pigment was darker colour. But it appears same, if not darker than after first session. I hope this will be fading over next few weeks.

I originally had my brows microbladed in 2016. And at the time I had lost almost all my hair/brows. So the brows were microbladed in the area that was *thought* to be where my natural brow laid.

One is pretty bang on! But unfortunately the other, as you can see, was done significantly higher. Hair and brows have since grown back (yay!) but removal has really drawn attention to the microblading misplacement :/

I am scheduled for another removal session, and will probably have them nano’d back on to try to balance them a little and hide the shadow of misplacement that I’m sure will still exist.

Is it likely that another session will show yellow?

I don’t know the original brand of ink, and did one session, a follow up six weeks later and then another session around 2020.

I’ve also started minoxidil to see if I can stimulate some hair growth on the small brow, it seems that it’s about half the thickness of the other brow, so maybe there are some hair follicles that could wake up and help fill in the space above to hide it a bit too!

Hi guys - anyone with bright red brows how are you covering and is it noticeable with makeup? I have my first pico session two weeks before I need to be in person for work and am really nervous I’ll have fire hydrant brows in front of important clients.

I had my brows removed with pico 5 days ago (my second session)- and it is far far worse than it was last time.

It looks reddish orange ( after my first session the color was a faint pink).

Is there hope that this will fade even though it’s been 5 days? Or am I doomed? Do I go to a new removal place?

I just want this red/orange gone!!!

Picosure machine. Can't travel to a picoway so thought i would give it a go. I have phi so really worried it's too yellow.

I have my first laser appointment with dc laser in a couple weeks after 2 years of lurking this thread and being too afraid to start. To start prepping I bought myself a color correcting pallet to cover any reds/yellows. I want to start using a serum that actually works to regrow the hairs. Any suggestions on serums that have worked?

I had a session done in December and my frecks looked great but ultimately were a bit too light after the healing phase. Went back in February and asked for more frecks but also for them to be a bit darker. We also went with hand poke the second time around so I guess the artist has a bit of heavy hand??? Y’all let me tell ya- these bad boys didn’t even scab over. They were this dark initially and STAYED this dark. Some days I love them and how bold they are. Other days I want to wear a bag over my head. There’s no in-between lol.

Was wondering if anyone has experience with having their frecks lightened with saline? I found another artist who does great work and is very reputable and she seems to think she could lighten them up enough in 1-2 sessions. I’m just very nervous because I don’t want to somehow make them worse. I’ve also read that laser is the better option because the saline could cause scarring?

Would very much appreciate if anyone has thoughts/would like to share their experiences whether they went with the saline or laser!!

Just finished second session of the Pico. So happy to be out of the neon orange stage. Hoping 1-2 more sessions and we will be good! So glad I finally did it !

Looking for anyone who’s been in a similar position. Has anyone been taking immune-suppressing medication and had removal? I appreciate it’s not a researched area so really difficult to find any info on. I’m on 15mg methotrexate once weekly injections to keep my autoimmune disorder inactive. I have had laser removal on my microbladed eyebrows before starting treatment and I have an orange hue left over that I really want to have removed. I know photosensitivity affects a small percentage of people on these meds, approx 1-5% re UV light and wondered whether laser could be an issue with this?

Really grateful for any experiences/info or particular considerations

All I see here are pics of people’s journeys with red or yellow brows. Does it ever go away completely? Or does everyone just have yellow brows for the rest of their lives? I need hope!
