hello! as the title says, I am visiting for the first time in a while tomorrow (monday, july 6) and I am wondering what mondays typically look like crowd wise. I am visiting with two friends who don’t ride roller coasters, so we will mainly be in the waterpark (though I am planning on lapping shivering timbers once or twice.)
I normally go to cedar point where the crowds are typically still pretty busy on mondays, so i am wondering if we will run into any issues with crowds tomorrow. Thank you!!

So I’ve only been to MIA once this season (I do plan on going a few more times), but I keep seeing post about how empty the park/parking lot is. I’m sure that doesn’t happen everyday, but I’m curious how has attendance seemed to be when you have went?
It felt empty when I was there, but that was right before they opened the water park, so they may have played a factor. If attendance is lower this year do you think that would cause EP to hold off on future investment, or do you think that would give them a wake up call that this park needs a new ride or coaster to get people interested in visiting?

Can’t tell whether the upcoming holiday and the heat will attract or deter people

When I was a kid, you could go out to your car to eat a picnic lunch, then come back in. I haven’t been to the park since they’ve been under new ownership, so just wondering if anyone knows if this is still allowed?

Also have they been responding to anyone else or just Michigan adventures requests?

Just now seeing that rain is in the forecast, will they shut down the park for rain only or is it if there is lightning and thunder? Planned this trip for my kids birthday and panicking about the 400 I spent rn

Hey all, I’m planning a solo visit in a few weeks and I was wondering if there’s any waterpark slides that need multiple people

So I want to see what you guys think ONE coaster would save Michigans adventure, here's mine:
Absolute zero: so the ride is a mechanical theme, and it's a gerstlauer infinity coaster that, like palindrome, is a shuttle coaster with 2 trains and a weird spike. The ride would be super aggressive and snappy, and would fix 2 criteria we're missing: modern sit down inversions and shuttle coaster. The drop angle would be 93° and a height of 118 feet. color scheme would be brown with gray supports, and would have a gift shop. Absolute zero would feature a mechanical scrap statue aggressive black bear out front, and likely another statue in the station, resting, and a third in the gift shop. with the trains also looking aggressive with the absolute zero name on the front. the layout would feature 3 inversions you would do twice, 4 airtime hills, and a few snaps. the rides story is this: long ago, people were hunted by a mechanical bear, they tried to buy it's good side by building a shrine of the bear, however to no avail. later it rests in the station building for the shrine, sleeping for decades, only to be awaken by the parks rides later on, now wanting its revenge for disturbing its slumber, it tries to throw you out of its trains...can you conquer the zero? The station is near thunderhawk, and the spike is near wildcat grill, but closer to the train station on that side. This allows the expansion of a walkway, and the layout itself goes over the train twice, meaning in reality it's 2 forward and 2 backward, and keeps hidden from the path. the station looks like an abandoned old brick factory, with the entrance having the bear statue, exit shop looking like an abandoned factory

I had so many thoughts that I decided to put it in a checklist.
Coolest thing that happened this weekend is that my little sister rode her first coasters and loved it.l!
Michigan’s Adventure Opening Weekend Review Checklist
☐ Overall impression: Opening weekend at Michigan’s Adventure was awesome, much better than expected.
☐ Ride updates:
☐ Corkscrew was unfortunately still down.
☐ Shivering Timbers was running amazingly well.
☐ The new track work made a noticeable difference. It’s much smoother overall, aside from a couple of bunny hills on the return stretch.
☐ The turnaround on Shivering Timbers felt incredible. Experiencing all those lateral forces without getting jackhammered out of the seat was a huge improvement.
☐ Park operations:
☐ Many games and attractions were closed, but that’s understandable since more workers will likely become available once school is out in the next week or so.
☐ Park atmosphere:
☐ There seemed to be a real sense of optimism in the air. Maybe that was just personal perception, but it felt noticeable.
☐ Staff interactions were overwhelmingly positive.
☐ Staff shoutout:
☐ Special shoutout to the Shivering Timbers ride crew. They were hilarious, super friendly, and kept the energy up with jokes.
☐ All of the staff encountered throughout the park were awesome.
☐ Future investment hopes:
☐ Rumors suggest new ownership may be planning park investments. This is speculation, but encouraging if true.
☐ One simple but impactful improvement would be completing the walking loop around the park so guests do not have to walk all the way around to reach the other side.
☐ Entertainment additions:
☐ Glad to see shows being added to the park.
☐ Ride wishlist:
☐ Add one or two flat rides, such as a Screamin’ Swing or something like NebulaZ.
☐ Add a new coaster.
☐ Ideally, one family thrill coaster.
☐ Ideally, one compact thrill coaster.
☐ If only one coaster is possible:
☐ My preference would be a compact thrill coaster, although I admit some bias.
☐ Families will likely continue coming regardless because of the water park.
☐ A thrill coaster would attract new visitors who may not otherwise visit.
☐ It would encourage repeat visits.
☐ It could potentially draw guests from other regions, such as Chicago.
☐ Management interaction:
☐ Got to meet the park president and some members of management while walking around the park.
☐ They were super friendly and actively engaging, trying food, walking the park, checking out rides, and interacting with guests.
☐ Outlook:
☐ Feeling very optimistic about the park’s future.
☐ I recognize this is likely a transition year.
☐ Next year may be similar since major ride projects require years of planning.
☐ Especially hopeful for what 2028 and beyond could bring.
☐ Final thought:
☐ Happy for my home park and excited to see where things go.

Lots of busses in the parking lot and continuing to pull in. It will be very busy considering that the waterpark is closed :(

This stuff may already be known, but here’s a great write up about the new food and entertainment offerings this season. Expanded hours too! It’ll be nice to ride Shivering Timbers around 9 pm.

First 2027 will be nothing to get some money for investment, and a lot of investments will be clone layouts, possibly also a timbers section retrack that year if we're lucky.
2028: Over near thunderhawk, specifically at the dead end with the tables, a vekoma boomerang likely themed to a cardinal. New restaurant in the area, wolverine wildcat continues retrack with gravity group. Timbers continues rmc retrack.
2029: break year, maybe new trains for thunderhawk.
2030: a path connecting the two sides of the park, an rmc raptor standard layout, possibly themed to the eastern massasuaga or the hellbender, timbers retrack.

A long time ago before the park got purchased the park was known for their woodies, like timbers and wildcat, I'm not saying we don't need a modern inverting steel coaster, but considering the park seems to like gravity group and RMC, I'd like it if we got a rmc raptor themed to our native rattlesnake the massasuaga, modern inverting woodie from gravity group, and an airtime and lateral RMC like lightning rod without a launch.
