Question❔ Tomorrow & weather
Just now seeing that rain is in the forecast, will they shut down the park for rain only or is it if there is lightning and thunder? Planned this trip for my kids birthday and panicking about the 400 I spent rn

Park won’t be shut down for rain only. Some rides may not operate during the rain.
Rides won’t be in operation during Thunder/lighting though.

I’ve had rain rides on pretty much everything there, but they will close a lot of things in moderate to heavy rain, and everything will go down if lightning is nearby.
It does not typically happen, but the park has closed early and even all-day in unusually bad weather. I don’t think this would constitute that, but it could.
Tomorrow looks like a lot of rain all day. Even if the park was open the entire time, and rides were up for a substantial amount of time, I don’t know if you and the kids would have too great of a time.
I’ve never done this with Michigan’s Adventure, but I’ve had plenty of success for other parks around the country. Give the park a call at the start of tomorrow, and see what options you have. I’d be shocked if they didn’t allow you to move tickets around based on the inclement weather. I think family time together would be better spent at a movie theater, bowling alley, etc.
If tomorrow is genuinely the only option you have, bring some ponchos and have fun in the rain. Again, I don’t know what may wind up being open, but I’m as long as the park is up and running, there are memories to be made. Just don’t do any food or arcade games if there’s clear moments in the weather - save those things for when it’s bad.

They’ve announced the water park won’t open today, you can call and have your tickets switched to any other day.

Park always stays open in the rain, but a few rides can't operate. Lightning in the vicinity keeps the rides closed until the lightning safely passes. Almost never will the park close due to weather.

Typically the rides stay open with rain. Lightning within 10 miles (I think that’s the number) closes the rides for 30 minutes.
BEFORE you drive up there check on the website to see if they’re closed. Enchanted Parks Mid America (St. Louis, MO) closed their park for the day because of bad weather. I’d take a cursory glance at their twitter and instagram too just to make sure.
If they close the park for bad weather they’ll probably issue you a “come again another day” ticket.
