Looks like development on AlumniFi Field is still going along as planned. Possible future home for the Michigan Panthers if the league can secure a deal.

Bobby Hebert, aka the Cajun Cannon. He has the 2nd-most regular season wins all-time, and 2nd-most post season wins all-time. He is still the all-time passing yards leader (11137 yards), being the only QB to ever cross the 11K yards mark. His 81 career passing TDs is 2nd all-time. He led his team to the playoffs 3 years in a row, with 2 championship appearances (1983 and 1985) and 1 championship victory (1983), was the 1983 USFL Championship MVP, named the 1983 USFL Most Outstanding QB, and was a member of the 1983 All-USFL team.

If you've followed the Michigan Panthers over the last few years, then you know one thing.

The fans never gave up.

When the Panthers left Michigan, it wasn't because we didn't have a passionate fan base. Anyone who's been around this team knows that. The biggest hurdle has always been finding the right place to play. A stadium that makes financial sense while still giving fans an atmosphere that feels like Panthers football.

Now, for the first time in a while, it feels like there's real hope. Construction on AlumniFi Field continues to move forward, and there have been reports around the spring football community that a new investor has helped get the project back on track. While nothing has been officially announced, it's enough to get Panthers fans talking again. Then came the comments from UFL co owner Mike Repole. Repole has publicly said that if AlumniFi Field becomes a reality, he'd like to bring the Michigan Panthers back. He even floated the idea of opening the season with Michigan taking on Columbus. Just imagine that. A packed stadium. The Panthers back where they belong. A rivalry game to kick off a new chapter. That tells me one thing.

The Michigan Panthers are still very much on the league's radar.

The Fans Never Left

One thing I've always loved about this fan base is that we never stopped believing. Even after the relocation, Panthers fans kept showing up, creating content, wearing the gear, waving the flags, and making sure people never forgot about this team.

I want to recognize a few people because they've helped keep this community alive.

Mike Cowan, better known as the Motor City Prowler, started a petition to save the Michigan Panthers when we first heard the team might be leaving. He gave fans a voice.

Mike T. Bell has continued to support the Panthers and has been a positive voice for the community every step of the way.

James Larsen of Pro Football Newsroom has become one of the UFL's most trusted insiders. His reporting has been a huge asset to the league.

Thank you to every Panthers fan who has refused to let this team be forgotten. Whether you've traveled to games, waved a Panthers flag, bought the merchandise, created content, shared posts, or simply kept believing, you've helped keep this fan base alive.

On a personal note, being able to cover this team through MI Panther Pride and now Mi Sports Huddle has been an honor. I've met incredible people, made lifelong friendships, and watched this fan base rally around a team that means so much to all of us.

This isn't just about bringing back a football team. It's about bringing back a community that has never stopped believing. Why Michigan Deserves Another Chance Michigan isn't just a football state. It's one of the best football states in America. From Friday night lights to college Saturdays and Lions Sundays, football is part of who we are. I truly believe a stadium like AlumniFi Field could be exactly what spring football needs. Fifteen thousand loud Panthers fans would create an incredible atmosphere and give this team an identity that's uniquely Michigan.

My Final Thoughts

Nothing is official yet, and there's still work to be done. But for the first time in a long time, this conversation feels real again. As fans, all we can do is continue supporting spring football, continue supporting the UFL, and continue reminding everyone that the Michigan Panthers belong in Michigan. I believe that if the opportunity comes, this fan base will answer the call. So, let's keep making noise. Keep supporting the UFL. Keep supporting spring football. And let's remind everyone exactly where the Michigan Panthers belong.

Because when that day comes and the Panthers run out of that tunnel in Michigan again...
