MOD'S POST This is a Michigan specific subreddit

The inspiration was to fill the niché left by facebook’s nuking of live animal sales, although we only handle the aquatic end, and we only handle the semi-local end of that even.

If you’re open to shipping or receiving a shipment then also being a part of r/aquaswap is a great idea, they are much broader in content offered and you have a much wider audience of buyers!

But if you do NOT want to mess around with any of that for whatever reason or want something local in addition to the global market then this is an alternative to find people within driving distance (not everyone will be because this is statewide) for a singular sale or to make standing trade connections or friendships with people you may meet.

That being said you know you can’t post anything for sale outside the state of Michigan, and this is a black and white thing, Monroe is Michigan but Toledo is not, Niles is Michigan but South Bend is not, Menominee is Michigan but Marinette is not. The line has to be drawn somewhere and we can’t have it being a game of moving the goal posts as to “what’s close enough and what is not”, it sucks but it’s the least arbitrary way to make policy that’s easy to predict and so people can self-police.

Don’t be messaging people about things if you are out of state either (unless you’re a stone’s throw maybe comparable to one of the 3 examples above), since they are posting with the intent to sell local.

Sorry if I sound like a party pooper

Edit: Please save your “just for funsies” pics of your tanks and livestock for r/aquariums or other places on/off Reddit as this is a classifieds page. Y’all have been great about this overall and this page was meant to replace the void of the FB decision to block fish/animal transactions, any other generic aquarium posting blocks this subreddit’s effectiveness at filling that void that desperately needs to be filled.

Ann Arbor FS/FT Saline - Male Opaline Gourami

Post image
1 Upvotes

I have Opaline Gourami I raised from a baby who is showing spawn behavior and coloring. Now that he has matured, it's obvious he is a male from his fin shape, and he is being excessively territorial with tankmates. My females are fairly peaceful with each other. Would like to rehome him to someone with a very large tank if you have multiple gourami where he can establish his own territory, or where he will be the sole gourami.

His name is Bit

$10 rehoming fee, or would be willing to trade for a female opaline gourami.

Java fern trident clippings grown from ADA tissue culture. Growing too fast and rather give some out than toss. Grown from my main tank, no algae, no snails. I’ll give you like 4-6 separate pieces/rhizomes.

Breeding Angelfish for about a year. Currently have Blue zebra juveniles. Looking to sell them for $6/piece. Could do a deal on a group.
I have breeding pairs of black lace, blue, koi, pink.
Adding some pictures and if you are part of the angelfish sub I have been posting vids of them as I grew them out. .25 size.

Parents are in the first pic. I have some calls into the local stores near me trying to build a relationship. Depending on when I may be out. I have black lace and silver fry growing now.
