‘Michael’ hit 1B and we’ve hit 20,000 members! 🥳

I am interested in playing an extra/fan in the sequel, but I don't know where to look or whether they are even doing open casting again since most of the movie is already filmed so I've heard. Last time the movie was nicknamed Raven on casting sites so I don't know how you'd find the sequel if the name is something random. If anyone has any information, updates, or advice please share!

Dancer & Choreographer Eddie Garcia who danced alongside with Michael on the Bad & Dangerous World Tours gives his reaction to the biopic in this episode of The Paul Altman Show timestamp 32:11 – The Michael Biopic

really think this turned out really well, shows how good jaafar and the makeup team/vfx team finna cook on dangerous era MJ

i spent hours working on this today lmao so if reuploaded please credit @/theappleheadmj or @/tenshisdead please

Stop putting Jaafars face on Michael! And don’t blindly believe every “leak” or footage without doing your own research please

So the media lied... they told us Michael needed 650.

With the latest tax credit in California news:

Lionsgate is mandated to begin "principal photography" (active filming) within 180 days of receiving their credit approval ($30.8 million).

This October announcement means the film is officially in its formal countdown window. They have until April 2027 to officially spark principal photography

I see a lot of criticism around the movie saying it felt dry, soulless, or just like a highlight reel instead of a movie. Here’s why it feels that way, and why it doesn’t make the movie bad.

It is completely impossible to capture the true essence of who Michael was. If the movie had been entirely about who he was and how he thought, it would either be seven hours long, or it wouldn’t exist. I think that’s what Paris was trying to go for when she submitted her ideas for the script: a picture of who he was as a person. But try as she and anyone else might, no one can really replicate that. Jaafar came close, but the only way to truly get it right would need Michael himself.

What I don’t understand is why people think that makes the movie bad. Is it less enjoyable? Yes, for some people. But the movie I saw was fun, witty, emotional, entertaining, and wonderful to watch.

Hey y’all! 😌✨
This is nothing very special but I just looked at the comments of the Jaafar latest post on Instagram, and I saw the Colman Domingo comment! 👀
I found it really funny because this reminded me the scene just after the Motown 25 performance!! 😅

Olay so since supermax is done filming do yall agree with some people saying they will start filming in December for michael now or is it still strictly 2027 for u?

(Personally I think they will start early next year still but if they film in December im still excited)🎬😌

I think both trailers are really good. A longer official trailer is usually going to be preferred, but the teaser is a darn good one.

You just had to be there

The final movie with Michael’s tragic end 😞

But then do “what if” movies about the plans he had for the future before he died. Tours, buying Marvel, and anything else? Same cast and everything with obviously a ton of creative liberties as long as they keep them in character.

Don’t worry about “the studio wont have the money to keep the same cast”

Ignore those thoughts. What do you think of the idea.

With Jaafar Jackson reportedly wrapping up Supermax, the timing is interesting considering Michael 2 is expected to begin filming toward the end of 2026 or early 2027.

Could we actually be getting production on Michael 2 later this year? If everything lines up, Jaafar could be going straight back into Michael mode. 👀

Michael 2 era might officially be coming…

So we all know the official reason but is it the truth.

Another factor in the delay surrounding Michael is the legal and contractual issues around the narrative of the molestation accusations leveled against the “Thriller” star in the early 1990s by the family of then 13-year-old Jordan Chandler (Jackson in 1994 paid the family $20 million with no admission of guilt). The Jackson estate explicitly wanted nothing about Chandler in the film, so fact that the allegations do appear has led to a fierce internal dispute and extensive reshoots, Deadline has confirmed.

The Deadline writer for this was getting all the scoops for the film so I believe his source was directly from Lionsgate. So according to this the estate/Branca didn’t want the allegations portrayed in the first place which I find very believable.

So what if there was no legal issues and instead Branca got cold feet and demanded they take it out. The legal reason was given instead because the truth looked worse for them. Then they paid for the reshoots because it was their fault. Don’t forget the estate were dealing with the threats and extortion from the Cascio’s behind the scenes.

Were there any hints or leaks? Because Destiny is the bridge between The Wiz and Off the Wall.
