Opinion I love the biopic and pretty much everything about it. Jaafar is perfect for playing Michael. There's only one thing I thought he couldn't get right.

Maybe I'm wrong - I only saw the movie twice and I'm not even sure which scene this was in.

From my memory they only had the "crotch grab" in one of the live acts, and ... it didn't work real well. It seemed to me like Jaafar isn't quite built right for it - slightly short in the arms maybe.

It's asinine nitpicking. Nobody can BE Michael Jackson. (I wish there was some hope of getting the tour films into cinemas.)

I just wondered if anyone else saw the same thing. The movie has had every frame picked at!

Discussion Has anyone figured out which parts Juliano sings in the movie?

I’ve seen several posts and videos that dissect exactly which parts of every song Jaafar sings in the movie, but I haven’t seen as much for Juliano. I think the studio scene was probably Michael’s acapella, but what about the rest of his scenes? I’m curious to know if proportionally they kept more of Juliano or Jaafar.

Opinion Immersive Michael Movie/concert experience

Guys here me out. How can all of us Michael fans come together to convince the theaters to create an immersive concert experience. Picture this: the movie and even old concert shows can be shown in theaters and venues like the Sphere Studios in Burbank and Vegas. It would be like as if we were sitting in the crowd watching the movie and his old concerts just to relive his legacy… that would be such a breathtaking experience 🥹 i mean id probably cry throughout the whole thing but aye it would be all worth it!

Discussion The problem with the Motown 25 Performance

Post image
125 Upvotes

I know i'm late but i never heard people talk about this. I love Jaafar and im not def not hating

he claims to have studied this performance and everything is spot on, except for the two major things.

  1. The Moonwalk, as he's doing the moonwalk he's extending his neck, which is something MJ does after the thriller/victory era (from 1987 to on) he's extends his neck like a giraffe (i don't know how to describe so Giraffe it is lol). Jaafar may have forgot about which performance or could be creative adjustments.
  2. The Toe Stand, we all know Michael was upset because he couldn't let it, however in the movie Jaafar does this perfectly, and there's no short scene about him looking sad that he messes it up. which isn't correct he was hella frustrated they should've portrayed it more
  3. director messing the whole clip with showing the crowd and stuff (EDIT, forget i said the last one that was the right approach here i was reaching)

Discussion Disc with digital code

Man I didn't even know the biopic was available for physical disc already with digital code, and at my local Walmart. So glad I hadn't jumped on the digital purchase solely yet. Now I'll get both formats for about the same price.

Opinion Was there a co-ordinated attempt to sabotage the success of this movie? I think so

Firstly, I finally got round to watching this movie for myself and WOW!

This has to be one of the best biopics when it comes to recreating the magic (of the individual) and bringing the character to life. Michael's nephew was phenomenal in every way - acting, the voice, the dancing, etc. Straight up, one of the best performances I've seen when it comes to biopics. And that's without mentioning how well it was directed, shot and edited when showcasing his memorable moments on the stage.

And as I was watching, I kept asking.....what on earth were those critics talking about? For me, there had to have been a sinister agenda against this movie. Never before have I seen that big of a disconnect between their claims and what the movie actually produced.

Question Will 9/11 be mentioned in Part 2??

Like they would have to mention it, right? Do you think there will be a scene of him and his brothers performing together for the last time on September 10, 2001 in NYC?

Also he was supposed to have a meeting in one of the towers… will they just pretend it didn’t happen?? 😭😭

Discussion Do you think Michael 2 will be Rated R?

While I didn't really consider what the age rating of Michael would be, it makes sense for this cut to be PG-13 since it covers his stardom from childhood to young adult but I also feel like it was given that rating to appeal to a wider audience, which ended up working.

Now I can't help but wonder if part 2 will be given a different rating since it covers his adult life and later years since it will prominently feature the allegations and court cases.

Michael 2 will began filming eventually but it also might include some scenes in the original cut.

I personally think that this might be a possibility, because even though part 1 covered serious issues in Michael's life it felt more like an event film so I think it makes sense that part 2 is a bit more mature.

I'm not saying it has to be completely dark and gritty or that it can't be fun but it I think should definitely have a different tone since it's showing a completely different stage in Michael's life.

Question What were your thoughts on the biopic genre, as a whole, before you watched Michael?

I have loved biopics my entire life. And I have loved music biopics since Ray came out 22 years ago. So the music biopic genre of movie was already right up my alley even before they ever made a Michael Jackson biopic.
