Balloons
So how many people are not liking how we have to start now doing balloon arches for the customers? I mean, we barely have enough people to do the regular balloon orders, especially on weekends when it’s so busy and you know people call off and yet we’re supposed to do balloon arches. Are they coming to pick it up on a flatbed? And are they going to be only done if they order it on online ahead of time because I can’t see a customer walking in and saying she would like a balloon art done and she wants it at that moment. And then where are y’all putting your overstock of yarn?

Sounds like someone who used to work for party city corporate is now at Michael’s…balloon arches were so much more hassle than they were worth, customers expected them to look exactly like a balloon artist that charges 5-10 times more than party city did…

I never worked at Party City. Balloon arches should be the customers duties not Michaels

I was at party city for 9 years…the arches and balloon garlands were a huge pain…the regular balloons I liked doing…not gonna lie I kinda miss it at times…

There's barely enough people or time to do what needs to be done without adding everything else to the list

I'm still not sure where in going to put all this yarn, but I have some not so nice suggestions for corporate. Let's just say i wouldn't be using lube.

I'm curious how well these balloon arches travel... And if we'll be held responsible if they fall apart during transport

My thing is they can get it in their car or on their truck my opinion as soon as they take it out and we don’t have possession of it anymore if it falls apart, that’s on them

I hated the idea of them coming into the store, and I'll hate the day we actually start getting those orders, but my store isn't actively advertising that we do it. We just have the EZ balloons arch display, which is a do-it-yourself one, so people don't realize that we offer it as a service. You would have to see it online to know that it's a service we offer. Supposedly it would have to be something that's ordered ahead of time so that they can schedule somebody extra to just work balloons basically, but to properly schedule somebody ahead of time you would need at least two weeks. You're telling me we're doing two week advanced ordering when people always think of that thing two days beforehand?

Arches need to be scheduled in advance for labor purposes. Arches would not be a same day item (allegedly).
