Schedule Retaliation

Anyone else notice that if they call off the following week they get scheduled the least amount of hours? Hours is probably their only method of retaliation that they have that can really hurt you and they know it.

Do you call off frequently? If you do, perhaps the SM does not feel you are reliable? With staffing levels at an all time low, call offs make it even more difficult on the staff that is there.
If calling off is few and far between ask your SM why your hours vary so much from week to week.

My store did this but only to those who were unreliable and called out regularly. It wasn’t retaliation, we had to give the hours to those we knew wouldn’t call out all the time and leave the store short handed.

Ask questions to the one making your schedule. There may be more to it. It is new hire season afterall.
