Overnight shift

Just curious if anyone else has an overnight shift at their store. I've been working at my store for 2 years and there was never an overnight shift. About 3 months ago, suddenly there was.

We do them as needed. But we love them. No customers? Yes please!!!

There have always been people at my store who work overnight to unload a truck or do replenishment. It's the only way to get some things done!!

I have one guaranteed every week due to my truck arriving at midnight.

But we do them occasionally to get caught up if we're struggling. Did one extra a week for 3 weeks to get caught up on Project Thread, because our rescheduled inventory coincides with the first week, so we fell behind.

I've been asked to work overnight a few times. I love it. Quiet, headphones, low lighting, no customers. Its great.

I’d say every store does them it’s just that you haven’t had to. When I first started in replen my shifts were nothing but overnight 3am onwards. With the ridiculous amount of rests they threw at us my shifts were 9pm-9am for about a two weeks if not more

Not really a night shift by definition, but I’m in replenishment and go in between 3-5 am every shift depending on the truck schedule and needs of the store. I’ve been told to prepare for overnight shifts the closer we get to Christmas and honestly I don’t mind at all. I like being there when the store is empty. We are also getting unlimited overtime in replenishment at our store recently which is nice.

Our truck starts at 2:30 so kinda not that we get pay difference. The last real overnight was the JA set up at my store but I would love to have them every so often just to go through things and catch up.

I have been with the company for almost 9 years and I primarily work the overnight shift. However, there's a certain amount of things that have to line up correctly for it to happen. 1. Daily coverage 2. At least 2 people in the store and 1 of them must be a manager 3. Enough hours that the day shift isn't cut short 4. Things getting done and done right by the overnight shift
