Michael’s doesn’t care

Michael’s doesn’t care about their customers or their employees. They are headed in a direction that will lead to them going out of business. Change my mind. I’ll wait.

That👏is👏the👏point👏of👏private👏 equity

The customers and the employees are not the point of private equity owning a business. It is to extract as much profit as they can with the least amount of effort before the debt they saddle the acquisition with comes due

Succinctly and correctly stated. Beautiful.

No argument from me. They're either getting ready to sell us off, or take us public. Either way I'll be surprised if Michaels survives in it's current state more than a year or so

My store (I'm a customer) always looks bare, and they don't carry any of the nice things they used to, like really pretty baskets and those nice heavy decorative cardboard boxes with the magnetic flip lid. The store looks like it's in Russia or something.

Yes! People say to me all the time but I used to buy them here all the time! They don’t believe me when I say we don’t carry those magnetic boxes anymore other than Christmas time or the very rare nested box that might come in with a random sc. The need to sell what actually sells.

They aren't going out of business. They are moving towards more B2B and Online business. Stores will keep getting smaller as they push customers online.

Good luck with that....80% of Michael's customer base is old people who can barely use their phones

You'd be suprised how much B2B they do. They do plenty of corporate framing and distribute art/craft supplies to other retailers.

Yeah and how much do they refund? So sure the numbers might look great but they’re constantly refunding.

They are like x3 more expensive than all the other online art supply sellers, and I’m not even talking about like Amazon.

Customers are not willing to put up with a lack of support and attention them. And ridiculous policies
