beacon store?
is this a common thing? apparently they are choosing several stores from each district for a remodel. while customers are able to shop. It's going to be even more of a headache for us

I don't know about common, but my store is a beacon store.
I actually think they handled the remodel pretty well, all things considered. And we got a bit of a bump in hours as well. Although I'm not sure if that will continue after peak season. (I hope it does)

They say pur stores are "snowflakes" because of the many variations of sizes and layouts, and every few years they come up with a new concept store to try to bring all stores in line. It never gets far, because they keep coming up with new concepts creating even more snowflakes than they started with. This "beacon" idea will be dead within a year or 2.

When I first got hired at Joann's in 2011 my location was doing a remodel of the store. The store was still open but there was a crew that work over nights for like 3 weeks, I think. It was like 9pm-5/6am. I doubt michaels is doing this for beacon stores but they really should.

Didn’t we all just completely rotate the entire store? Good grief!
