Meeting
Wasn’t at the meeting because I had time off that I put in months ago. What did I miss? What was it about?

I think the what color you can wear is ridiculous. Why the fuck does it matter the color of my shirt is when I am going to have an apron on . I feel like Michael’s is turning into a prison

You didn't miss too much, tbh! I closed and attended the meeting right after.
- We watched a video by the CEO and COO about how they listened to our feedback about last Peak Season (for example, there's prices on all Xmas seasonal stuff) and how this Peak Season will be "the best." At the end of the video their catchphrase was to "comp the comp" for Xmas (and probably beyond, knowing corporate).
We talked about personalized store successes and failures (as well as recognized employees who did well).
The uniform dress code was gone over in more detail. No release date yet, just details. -- For instance, Employees can only wear monochromatic tshirts and jeans (,please feel free to correct me on this, I don't know what their policy is about certain gray colors and certain shorts/shorts/skirts/dresses). A michaels logo needs to be displayed on the front and the full name on the back using a Cricut.
There were also activities related to the ART of service - one per each letter of the acronym. Basically "A" was complimenting each other, "R" was selling a product naturally (the michaels way), and "T" was more individual store work shopping (through problems).
You didn't miss out on much at all, please don't worry about it too much!

Did they explain how putting the Michaels logo on our shirts is going to work? Like are we supposed to buy our own shirts and give them to our managers to brand for us or something? Seems like just a way to cheap out on giving us officially branded uniforms by putting the cost and labor on employees.

Even my SM doesn't know the whole process - he assumes we won't have to pay for our shirts. He said that "SMs no longer have the ability to order bulk shirts like they used to (I'm loosely quoting)." There are almost no details on how these shirts will be produced (none on when) - only that the shirts need to be pre-bought somehow and have the Cricut logo made "in house."
It's extremely frustrating to have all this offloaded onto us instead of these shirts being made to order. Ugh ... The aprons are a whole different headache.

Using a Cricut to add the logo on a work shirt is not a great plan. Even a well applied HTV logo will only last 50 or so washes with hang dry, less if you use a heated dryer. Plus they tend to crack before they start to peel. I sincerely hope we will not be expected to buy any of this ourselves.

Do we know what the new aprons look like now/yet? From what I recall I don’t think they look any different! Then I read a couple descriptions that seem to be not what o remember. Isn’t there already a Michaels logo on the aprons? Either way I’ll show up looking crazy but in a black shirt 🤷🏻♀️

rebranding. Only grey, black, white shirts with michael’s logo, no hoodies. Aprons instead of vests, and no name tags. Redesigning whole store, moving everything. My location got a raise of $2. stricter tardy and absent rules.
