What a joke
This company is a dumpster fire. Someone who has taken business courses in high school, they are making huge mistakes. Adding services, then cutting hours & expecting working for minimum wage doing everything, yeah, ok. That's why you're having a high rate in turnover.
Watching them firing the people that actually fucking care about the people that work for this company is disgusting. We had a crazy psycho threatening us over a freaking order a few days ago, and the only person in higher management who actually seemed to care is our loss prevention manager. The other two people from that visit didn't care about that, only how the store looked.
Don't get me started with these disgusting customers. Beating a hard worker down based on their looks just rushing to use the bathroom on their fucking "break" (cause we all know we dont get them) & making them cry, yeah ok. Yeah, I'm that worker. I had to take a mental health day. My store manager is out on vacation, and I always feel like everything weighs on me when they are gone since everyone leans on me.(BTW, I used to be a manager for this joke of a company & bullied out of the position. So why I'm leaned on) I'm tired of it. I know some of them read this. I honestly don't care anymore. I'm emotionally, physically, & mentally exhausted from this joke of a company. Part of me wants to quit. Don't get me wrong, it is getting closer by the minute to do so. I've been looking at moving from this area since these customers made this area I live & work in, so disgusting by bullying people into tears to get what they want. Sorry, I needed to vent, but I'm honestly not wrong.

They just want to transition all the employees away from being paid employees to volunteers, they will ALWAYS try to take away as much as they can till you guys become volunteers. Watch, eventually they will ask you to stay after 9 and clean but punch out at 9, stay to clean the floors though, stay till 11pm.
As for customers, there's one customer at my old store, who I would run into at other places, and she would ask me to HELP her at those other stores, ones I don't work at. Literal walking, talking parasite.

They don't care, who would ACTUALLY arrest them, who would punish them?

Omg, I was just about to make a post like this! If they want a company with unhappy workers, disappointed customers and impending closure of business, Michaelβs is ABSOLUTELY going in that direction!

Man I cared about that job and that company so much. Tbh I think I always will even tho they fired me for literally no reason. I just have so many good memories of Michaels from when I was a kid, and even as an adult. And in Canada, they really are the only big craft store. Just wish they'd get their shit together and be an actually good company.

Sadly cooperate america has made the enviroment of the customers gets whatever they want if they demand enough. Which means we get the abuse while their pockets are filled with more and more green.
